The more you love beer, the more beer you love. I love IPAs and I understand why some folks like cider. But what I want in the summer are whites, wheats, and saisons. Didn't seem to be enough of that type thing last year.
I need to keep an eye out for the New Holland Bourbon Barrel Stout. That sounds right up my beer alley.
Klim, it's amazeballs! It's a stout that is aged in bourbon barrels. Very smooth, a little sweet. Definitely can taste the bourbon. But wait, because I'm about to blow your mind.
They also make a BEER barrel BOURBON. They take bourbon and age it in the Dragon's Milk barrels. This means it's a bourbon that's been aged in beer barrels that were originally bourbon barrels. Mind. Blown.
Yes, my mind is blown! That bourbon would have a distinct taste, I'd imagine. I am going to look around in Columbus, Oh. and see if it's available anywhere.
Can we stop talking about cider here? Unless you are a girl, then thats ok.
Well in that case.... I love Bantam Wunderkind & Fatty Bampkins.
But to roll with the boys I want a little Dogfishhead I think their Feste Peche (peach) would be way better than Abita Strawberry on a hot day at Bonnaroo.

Sorry, double post. The Broo'ers Tent also closes down pretty early on Sunday, and I've found that most of the better beer vendors have run out of cervesa and closed up shop around 2-4pm. So spend your tickets well either Saturday or early Sunday (as long as you're not gonna try and leave drivin' drunk)!

This story is actually pretty fascinating and certainly not as one-sided as West Sixth would lead you to believe. In fact, I don't have nearly as much sympathy for them after reading the correspondence between them and Magic Hat (which West 6th said never happened).

Seems like a Big company trying to impose its will on a smaller company by financially crippling them with legal fee's. You cant trademark a p and sue when someone uses a d. And side by side view of the two beers in question shows they are not close to being the same. West sixth is a small company making great beer. They didnt use any tricks to lure people to try there product. Have you had any of there brew? Way better really.

After reading up on everything, I'm not crazy about either party's actions. Magic Hat issued a demand for W6 to change their logo and threatened strict legal action if they didn't. That's harsh but it's a necessary evil for bigger companies to do to protect their brand and trademark.
Did you read that link in my original post? It's clear that West Sixth and Magic Hat had a pretty lengthy and (more or less) amicable correspondence about the dispute. They each proposed some changes, got close to an agreement and then it stopped without any action taking place from either party.
Now West Sixth has set the internet on fire claiming they are being bullied by Magic Hat and that they have received no correspondence from the big, bad New York lawyers which is quite clearly a lie.
So yea, Magic Hat was overreaching with their request ("inverted 9" is absurd) but West Sixth was dishonest.
To answer your other question, I've never had West Sixth but I don't doubt it's way better than Magic Hat. I've never enjoyed a Magic Hat beer and heard nothing but good stuff about West Sixth.

You guys will probably be ashamed but I pretty much only drink cliche light beers during Roo, just because it's easier to bounce back from 15 Coors Lights than it is for 6 Lagunitas IPAs.
Definitely planning to spend a solid few hours at the Broo'ers Tent on saturday afternoon though!
I hardly ever drink on the farm just because it can be so physically taxing. Last year was the first time I went to the Broo'ers tent and oh my God did I love it. Nothing better than getting a cold, flavorful beer in the shade on a hot day. Two (or three...) beers later and I felt like a new man.

Ya i usually experience the latter part of this statement rather then the first. No drinking at a music festival seems well... Crazy. But I do know people that also get sapped/drained from drinking. With me I just want to dance more. I'm not saying you have to go blackout and puke. But a nice lil buzz while jamming to The Sheepdogs in the Tennessee sun is one of my more anticipated moments of the weekend.

I work at Good People Brewing Co. out of Birmingham, AL. They will be there. Evidently brooers who come one year get to keep coming back if they want to- so maybe a few additions but i'd look for it to be similar to last year.
I love GP but they need bring enough beer to make it past Friday. They run out way early every year.
I asked about this. In 2011 they brought eight kegs and ended up with two left over, so last year they brought seven and ran out before lunch on Friday. It is good stuff! We may have Mumbai Rye IPA in time...

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but Woodchuck confirmed on Facebook that a) they will be at the Farm this summer and b) they will be doing their special demonstrations this year. Last year was really neat; we met one of the head brewers and tried the Belgian White-style cider. I almost wish I hadn't because it's DELICIOUS and I can't find it anywhere in town.
