I'm getting ready to make a new tent purchase and I see that Ozark Trail and Coleman both offer "Instant Tents" which have all the poles attached and can be put up in much less time than traditional tents. I am curious if anyone can recommend purchasing one of these or if it is best to avoid them. Are they more prone to leak than traditional tents or is their no difference. Of course I would spray it with a couple of cans of seam sealer. Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated.
I have the Coleman 6 person and I LOVE it for getting it up and down (since this is the only time I ever camp)but it did rain last year and it leaked a little bit at the window seams...so this year we will make sure to put a tarp over.

Thats exactly the info I'm looking for. Thanks a million kittymld.
@zenfnp has one. We used it at Wanee this year and I don't think it leaked when it rained? There were small puddles in the AM, but I think that was more from our drunk selves leaving the door open too long and dropping wet clothes everywhere the night before
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Lol on the drunk selves bonzai. I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

drunk selves? I know not that of which you speak, Bonz...
but yes, I LOVE my pop up dome tent. I waterproof the seams every year, have patched a couple little places, but have had it for almost 9 years now. The bag is ripped and I hold it together when rolled up with bungee cords. I need to start NOW looking for a replacement as I'm sure this one won't last forever and I love it so. It's SO easy. Even a drunk can do it.

Too funny @zenfnp. Thank you so much for replying. Think I'm going to go ahead and order one.
I have the Coleman 6 person and I LOVE it. Our neighbors last year were super jealous of how fast we got that puppy set up. Like Bonzai said, if you leave the doors open for too long when it rains (e.g. overnight like we did...) you'll get puddles, but no leakage otherwise.

Thats great news alenamarie. Thank you very much for the info.
I also have the 6 person Coleman and love it. It's made the whole setting up process so much easier. My favorite thing about it is that it is very tall inside. You can comepletly stand up in the middle to get dressed. Last year while on a capimg trip it rained nonstop for the entire night and it didn't leak inside. There was a little condensation but nothing crazy. My sisters tent ended up flooding and I was able to just fit 2 single cots and her queen air mattress in it.

That seals it for me. When I get home from work I am going to order one. Thank you very much Alyssa for the reponse.
