So this may be pointless, but coming from someone who has a tight budget every year it's a random thought to save money for the trip, and in all honesty its really not even that clever but super simple. I have a coconut head coin jar that EVERY DAY I put the change from my wallet in and cash it in right before I go to the farm. 2 years ago I ended up with just under $125 bucks and last year when I did it religiously I ended up with just over $175.00. Its just one of those little tricks you may not think of I guess that I wanted to share. Feel free to post if anyone else has any ideas of saving money before, at, or even after Roo!

For a whole year before Roo 2011, I had an envelope hanging on the wall that I intended to put Bonnaroo money in to.
By the time May hit... the envelope was still empty (typical, I never follow through on anything I start). At that time, there was a contest for Total Access (Roll Like a Rockstar) from StubHub where you had to say why you would win (in 50 words or less) and submit one photo that told your story.

I do this for my kids and put it in their college fund accounts. Change adds up really quickly. I can end up with like $100 for each of them in a couple of months.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Like GF did (or didn't do) for Roo, I keep envelopes for all my major festivals. Whenever I have a few extra bucks, I throw money in. I waitress part-time, so I am lucky that I always have cash. If I don't go out one weekend, I'll take a 100 bucks and distribute it between envelopes. I always have more money than I need for any given fest (of course, ticket, plane and such are already accounted for).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I have a change jar/bucket thing but not sure I want to use it for Roo or save it for longer/when I really need it.
I started mine more or less as an emergency fund, but then I just put a lump of cash away for that reason and switched my change jar for Roo purposes only. It really is amazing how fast it adds up though

There are two things I use for saving my Bonnaroo change. One is the Broo'ers festival mug thing. The other is the metal mug thing from... Bayou Billy!

I feel like this is one of the only downsides of the rise of cashless payment. I never use cash for anything anymore, so even though we do keep a change jar, it really doesn't add up fast enough to have much effect on anything.
