I have heard some people say water, others gatorade, others G2, odd enough I have not seen Poweraid mentioned, someone else said pediasure/slimfast/ermergenC. So just curious what everyones favorite is =)
Drink at least the equivalent of a 2 liter bottle of water each day or you'll have a bad time (that's coming from a guy who is 5'8", and 145 lbs wet). As far as Gatorade, feel free to mix in, but don't substitute the water. Pedialite/ensure/emergen-c... I might do one in the morning to get your nutrients, but definitely DO NOT substitute your daily water with those nutritional beverages. My ROOtine- 12 oz bottle of orange juice + 2 cups of black coffee in the morning. Fill and drink my 2 liter camelbak at least 3 times each day in Centeroo, and mix in the beer. My beer to water ratio is probably 1-1 in the day, and 2 (beers) to 1 (H2O) after dark. I don't bother with sports drinks.
Water water and water. Water is your friend. Sports drinks are ok but in addition to water not instead of water. I may not do a camel back but instead Cary a half gallon of water at all times. I can strap two 24 oz containers the sides and keep a 32 oz in the backpack and have more room for other stuff I need for during the day,
Water above all else then fill in with an electrolyte drink (gatorade, pedialyte, etc). I also like to start the day off with one of the gatorade gel pack things. Save alcohol for after the hottest part of the day or at the very least until your body is well hydrated with non-alcoholic drinks.
gatorade in the morning, water the rest of the day. may pick up a few ORT packets for a particular rough morning or afternoon. if you're planning to go hard i'd recommend having ORT packets just in case.

Wake up - A Gatorade in the morning & at least 2 bottled water (and maybe a couple of beers) before I leave camp and carry a few bottled waters with me into centeroo. I drink a bottle of water every couple of hours and more if it's really hot. My Water/Booze ratio during the days is 1.5 : 1 and gradually changes to 0 : 24 as the night goes on! Back at camp I'll drink maybe 2 bottles of gatorade and devour like 2 lbs of various snacks. Sleep.
I bring a case of water and gatorade to drink at camp early in the day and then lug around my camelbak from show to show which I fill and refill to stay hydrated through the day and into the late night sets. I don't drink too much beer during the day, but I start slurping in the evening and into the night. Pace yourself and hydrate accordingly. The water:beer ration people have mentioned are good ideas
I'm drinking water, coconut water and Vitamin water - note the water theme - from the time I wake up until around 6-7 p.m. Then I start drinking beer, with the occasional water mixed in so I don't wake up horribly dehydrated feeling when the sun comes up. That's my personal tried and true formula.
Water Water with flavored vitamin/energy packs (ie emergen-c or propel) Gatorade - Really is a thirst quencher here ha HA. Never tastes more delicious than at 'roo ^these all throughout the day as well as the occasional coconut water for serious hydration - make sure to find a brand you like, vita coco is pretty good. I recommended coconut water to a friend and she tried the canned stuff on the international asile and was completely disgusted.
Don't forget your salt either! I hydrated my self super well and still felt like shiz one year... and then my friend broke out some jerky and chips. Best jerky and chips of my life. I felt so much better.

Hydration is key but like Squirrel said, watch your salt intake Even though Salt is dehydrating your body looses it when you sweat which can cause you to feel like hell, So mixing in Powerade, Gatorade, some kind of electrolights will help a huge deal with putting the sodium back into your system.

Vitamin water in the morning (along with some caffeine but not a ton of it) water during the day, 5 hr energy shot if I start to feel drained (but I chase it with water) Vitamin water and then Mt. Dew followed by more water ay night.
For ever caffeinated soda you drink, match that with some kind of water intake so you do not dry yourself out.

That stuff is a savior. Tons of electrolytes (10x as much as Gatorade) vitamins (ESP B) and other goodies for your body. Drink 2 a day and you'll have a Better Roo.
I don't really drink alcohol at all. Probably had the equivalent of a 6 pack in two years combined. Not sure if its an option for some of you, but not consuming alcohol really helps if you're trying to stay hydrated in 100 degree weather.
I'll agree with Jimmyroo on this. My alcohol intake will be close to nothing. I'll hydrate with water throughout the day and gatorade type drinks while at camp. The only alcohol I will drink all weekend will be a few whiskey drinks before late night (assuming my trek to camp allows me to leave centeroo and return without ruining me). The buzz I chase throughout the day will be found by munching on corn, not drinking beer. Everyone is different. My thought process though is if you find yourself really thirsty you are already behind on hydrating. Drink water even if your body isn't telling you that it needs it.

I would stick with water. Gatorade, Powerade and other commercial sports drinks are not good for you. They are loaded with things like Brominated Vegetable Oil and other crap althought Pepsi has apparantly agreed to remove BVO from Gatorade but not sure when it takes effect. Nothing can replace water and if you keep filling up with cold water, it will taste better than anything.
I drink beer and water throughout the day. I put my house my Camelbak on a spring clip on my shoulder strap so it is right by my mouth and take drinks without even really thinking about it. I can finish my 2L in no time at all.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

This really bears repeating! You can hydrate with water sure but if you're like me and don't eat allot your electrolytes can get Quacked. Pizza and french fries or you're gonna have a bad time!

And for the love of god, pay attention to your sweating...If you stop it is not because you are not hot, if you stop sweating it is actually the first sign of heat stroke and you need to seek medical attention right away
