Laneway Festival’s footprint envelopes Meadow Brook’s rolling green fields on the campus of Oakland University. Two main stages and a third stage will be built on grounds; the Meadow Brook amphitheater stage will serve as the festival’s fourth stage. Ample space will also be dedicated to showcasing local markets, culinary heroes and locally brewed specialties.

It’s a nice lineup for sure but every single act I’d want to see has come through/will be coming through Chicago/Milwaukee/Madison in a few month span, and I imagine every other bigger market in the area. Can’t really imagine many people traveling for this, but I don’t really know if that’s their intention anyway.

When my wife and I were on the SS Coachella we talked to the guitarist from Yeasayer, Anand, and he told us they had been invited to play this. Maybe they will be an add. ...

Fuuuuuuuuu I really want to go to this. I wonder if the wife will let me spend some money on that...
Is anyone else definitely going for sure?
I am without a doubt definitely going for sure. 100%
I'm going to try to see if I can get some local folks from Louisville to come join me. I feel like I have to make this one because I really love the lineup.

I went and had a blast. I saw full sets from Phosphorescent, Chrvches, Savages, Deerhunter, and Sigur Ros. I saw bits of other shows throughout the day including Youth Lagoon, Frightened Rabbit, Matthew Dear, and The National.
The crowds were sparse all day. I was on the rail for Phosphorescent and Deerhunter and only showed up 20 or so minutes before each started. Just glancing at a few pictures of the Sigur Ros set(playing unopposed), the pavilion seemed to be almost, but not quite completely full. Total capacity at Meadowbrook is 8000, so I'd be surprised if there were more than 9k people there. That makes for great spots at shows you want to see, but I hope that's enough for the festival to keep coming back!
