We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
"Jesus! Haven't you guys spent any time at all around people like Comstock?* Can't you recognize malarky? Don't you think it would be a useful item to add to your intellectual toolkits to be capable of saying, when a ton of wet steaming malarky lands on your head, 'My goodness, this appears to be malarky'?"'
Neal Stephenson, Cryptonomicon
*Comstock: a malarkyter
Edit: I gotta admit, this censorship gets a little heavy at times. Neal Stephenson obviously didn't use the word "malarky" and neither did I. He used the word...well, basically, that which a bull excretes, which is often wrapped up in slick packaging and sold by the unscrupulous to the gullible. In other words: bullshit.

"Now some of you may encounter the devil's bargain if you get that far. Any old soul is worth saving at least to a priest, but not every soul is worth buying. So you can take the offer as a compliment." William S. Burroughs Words of Advice For Young People
EDIT: Actually, these are all very solid words to live by.
