Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Soft, wet, salty, and best served hot (but I'll have a jumbo bag in my cooler for snacks). You can find Cajun ones too (but that's for rotten Louisiana peanuts.) You bite the shell (which is soft-but not to be eaten) and suck the peanuts out.
Save the dirty talk for the "Sex at Bonnaroo?" thread..
Ha. I guess I do get quite excited about boiled p-nuts.

I've had the same trouble staying up for late night sets but last year I think I got it down. Try and sleep as much in the morning as possible, even if its a quick nap in a chair at your campsite. Stay super hydrated. Eat lots of protein (cans of tuna are great as gross as it may sound), and when all else fails I have a giant pack of Red Bull in my cooler. One in the morning to wake me up, keep one in my backpack for when I start to crash late night. I hate those things in real life but at Roo they definitely make a difference. Happy Rooing!!

Coconut Water is a natural sports drink that will help if you drink a couple of day to keep electrolites up without all the processed crap in Gatorade/Powerade, etc.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Electrolytes? Aren't those for like... plants?
You mean you're NOT stocking up on Brawndo before heading to the Farm?
For the first year I'm gonna try to head out to centeroo shortly after I wake up, instead of baking in the sun at my campsite for hours. Take a taxi in, head to one of the air conditioned facilities.
But it all depends, what's the earliest you can enter centeroo? And what is the earliest you can enter the cinema tents or the sports bar or any of the places with ac?
I typically stay well rested by taking it easy during the day. I don't drink any beer, drink plenty of water and try to find shade wherever and whenever I can in Centeroo. The only issue is there isn't a lot of shade, but if I can find a sliver under a tree I'm there, more so if it is in view of the stage/tent I'm at. I also typically sit as much as possible to rest my 40-year-old legs and will catch a quick 20-30 minute nap if there are no shows I want to see (The only downside to this plan is I took a nap a few years ago and woke up immediately after the LED things were dropped before Arcade Fire). At night, I usually still have enough energy to get my dance on and transition to beers.
The worst is when you're waiting for a show to start, and it's a show that you've been anticipating for a long time... and then BAM. Your legs start to go weak and you get that tired/heady dizziness like you need to rest.
This happened to me right before Bad Brains last year. I immediately panicked thinking "not nowww!!! Bad Brains-->Floggy Molly!?!? Whyyy"
Fortunately, I had the sense to hit the vendors and I found my miracle combination for this very situation: Strawberry Banana Smoothie, and an nice tall ice-cold ICED TEA. I was immediately re-energized and I danced and moshed like a champion through both shows.
Long story short... don't underestimate the power of a healthy pick-me-up.
Oh man, that's why I missed Gogol and String Cheese Incident in '11. Gogol was my number 1 band I wanted to see, and I slept right through them. It had to have happened at some point, though. The night before we were at Pretty Lights until 6:15a.m., and the night before that I only got an hour of sleep in the car on two separate occasions. Was exhausted by the time I even got to the farm.
I stay well rested with the support of the adrenaline pumping thru my veins at a rate comparable to that of jumping out of an airplane without a parachute.

I like to catch little naps at some of the daytime shows if I'm feeling sleepy. I find that gives me enough energy to make it to sunset, then I run on adrenaline & iced coffee through the night. Basically I survive the day so I can enjoy the night. I also avoid daytime stage shows for the most part.
1--you have to be well rested before you get there...lay off the booze etc a few days before a sleep a lot before you go 2--do not get wacked out on Wednesday or Thursday 3--do not be afraid to nap at centeroo 4--do not stay up pasy 6am, bad things happen that late 5--you will not be well rested so just forget about it
I plan on arriving Wednesday afternoon, setting up camp early and getting plenty of rest on the farm before Thursday and the music starting on Thursday. A late night packing, followed by a long drive, then a lengthy camp set up in the heat of the day on Thursday followed immediately by bonnaroo level partying is not the most conducive to being well rested the rest of the weekend.

My experience if you like late night music is that you just don't stay well rested. It is usually too hot to sleep in the day. This is the first year I am commuting three nights to Murfreesboro to a hotel, to try and get about six hours of sleep and a HOT shower. Then I am doing an all nighter Saturday night. Sleep before you go. Make sure you have a chill day to sleep on Monday after, and eat alot of food. You can stay well rested when you go home. There is too much to miss
I haven't slept a full night since 1994....if you rest you rust, so..I'm good with the demands...and WTF it's only 4 days...suck it up...sleep is so overrated, yes, .....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ok I'm back, what was the question?

Centeroo is open 24 hrs til midnight sunday, and the cinema tent goes nonstop pretty much as well.

Yeah don't drink until at 7 pm or so everyone!!! For all the first-timers out there especially. I've seen it happen so many times... Tragic, really...
People start drinking at noon and then get Bjork'd in the face at 7 pm. Just like that, their bodies and minds are SPENT, and they're asleep by 11. Screw that.

I drink beer from the time I get up around 8 until I go to bed. It is all about taking in water and pacing yourself. I walked around Centeroo last year with a nice craft brew almost constantly.

To each their own, but I would definitely recommend the "No Beers With The Sun Directly Overhead" strategy to all noobies. I respect anyone that can handle 14+ hours of craft beer in the Manchester sun though.
