I am a lesbian and my partner and I just got married in New York City on May 3rd. (Since we live in TN, we had to go where it was legal.)
We had a little weekend mini-moon in NYC but honestly going to Bonnaroo this year is counting as our honeymoon. (We will be camping in VIP so that makes it more enjoyable BUT before you start thinking dirty thoughts - we ain't getting too frisky on the farm - it will the month of June and we know how hot it gets there!!)
I just wondered if there is anyone else that has used Bonnaroo as their honeymoon or anniversary celebration? Or maybe we are just the only ones...
I would never have gone to 'Roo if she hadn't introduced me to it back in 2009 so we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our new marriage! It will be my 4th and her 9th time going to the farm!!

First of all congrats!! Second, I have never celebrated anything at roo but I could see getting there and just falling into the roo experience. Not that "just any old trip" to roo is bad (it is actually wonderful). I would make sure that everyday there you do something that is a little special to remind yourselves that you are there to celebrate your commitment and enjoy roo.

Thanks everyone for the congrats!! We would have loved to have gotten married there, maybe in a few years when it's hopefully legal everywhere we can renew our vows on the farm!
We are going to try to make it to the brunch and meet everyone!

That's awesome! Congrats to you and yours! I can't wait to celebrate our 10 year anniversary on the farm!

Here's to hoping the Supreme Court makes the right decision!
I am feeling confident that the month of June will be awesome! Naturally because of Bonnaroo but they are saying that the SC decision should be announced next month. I am very hopeful that it works out for the best!! Not to get too political but it's a human right and like I've heard some people joke "if they want to get married and be miserable too let them" (ha ha ha)

Almost exactly 3 years ago, I met my boyfriend. He was about to leave for his second adventure to 'Roo, and I had never heard of it. We hung out a few times before he left, but as soon as he came back we became inseparable. We still spend most of our time together. I love him with every piece of me, he's my best friend! We aren't sure of "dates" of when we started dating, so regardless of when it is, Roo is our anniversary celebration every year My first year of Roo was 2011, after our first year of dating. So now it is just tradition. We always splurge since it's our one vacation of the year.
We're a lot alike, and music is our passion. As soon as he came back when I met him he told me all about it and I knew it was a place I had to be.
