Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Hello all. This year will be my second time at Bonaroo, first time going solo - also new to this wonderful board. I've gone through the recommended beginners' threads, but haven't found the exact info I'm looking for, so hope you'll be up for offering a bit of advice.
I'l be flying in from California on Thursday. My flight should get in around 5PM. My options are taking the shuttle and trying to get into tent only or renting a car and ending up wherever they stick me.
First, the impossible question - What would my chances be getting into a tent only spot at around 8PM on Thursday?
Would the inforoo camp be able to hold something for me for that long? I like the idea of reserving a spot in TO and having instant friends and communal shade space, but I'd also be perfectly comfortable befriending stranger-neighbors and their lovely shade structures. I would just hate to arrive counting on a TO space and then end up having to lug my crap all over and end up back in a car camping space. Also, if I end up in car camping without having a car, I worry I'll get run over in my sleep in my little 2-person tent on Sunday night. Last year during the Sunday night exodus, people were driving dangerously close to my giant 4-person tent, even though it was right next to my truck. I can't imagine how anyone will be able to see me once most of my neighbors have fled.
Now for the most important question - How do I make sure I have enough beer? I'm concerned about procuring and stocking a cooler after I get to Nashville, as I assume the shuttle doesn't make shopping stops. I don't want to spend like $8,000 once i get to the farm, as that would eat up anything I would have saved by picking the shuttle over the rental.
1. You can stop and get supplies 2. You can stop and get beer. 3. You'll have a guaranteed place to camp. 4. You'll have some place to lock up your valuables. 5. You'll have A/C via the car when you wake up if you want. 6. You'll have a way to charge your phone.
@ntellier85, have you done this? Any idea about the availability of rentals at the Nashville airport during Bonnaroo? Still waiting to confirm a ride from mikes to roo Thursday morning. Might end up renting if need be.
still more adventure than that damn shuttle. It's just too easy!
I live in Nashville so no :-) I'll be riding in with Mike D.
There are TONS of other rental places other than the airport. I'm sure there are plenty of cars available. When I rented a car for Coachella it was only like $15-$20/day.
