I dont think they pay much attention to the limits. I think it would have to be obvious. They allow plenty 2 cases per person plus liqour and wine. I dont see how you could remember much of the festival if you actually drank that much. I think the limits are only to deter unauthorized vending.

I've traveled solo to roo all but the first time I went. I bring 60 cans of swilly beer, IceHouse, 2 fifths of some cheapish whiskey, Jim Beam, and a box of wine that never gets opened until a couple of weeks later but for some reason I feel compelled to bring anyway. That's plenty enough booze for me and allows enough surplus that I can freely hand out drinks to the various random people who wind up chilling at my camp.
I believe they sell some over priced frozen fruity concoution that has .1% alcohol in it.
For real? That's unfortunate. My preference is typically beer, but Firefly had margaritas and other delicious beverages last year.
Also, some awesome fresh juice stands if you could slide some whiskey in..
Rounding out my Roo Sunday afternoon in 2013 I bought a pretzel from Amish and a lemonade. I sat down in the Which field and watched Punch Brothers. I remember thinking "If only I could put some whiskey in this lemonade then EVERYTHING would be right in my world today!" This year me and a well placed flask will make that happen. Sunday you will find me sitting at the Which eating a pretzel, drinking some boozey lemonade and blissing out to Punch Brothers.
Has anyone had trouble bringing in plastic bottles filled with liquor through the tollbooths?
I've usually always just had plastic liquor bottles but this year I want to bring higher quality booze. Transferring to plastic water or soda bottles are the best bet?

I doubt very much you'd get hassled over it by Bonnaroo Staff, there's nothing addressing it in the prohibited list. That being said the TN Authorities may think otherwise, I'm pretty sure that could be considered an open container.

This link has some pretty good info regarding the Tennessee open container laws:
(a)(1) No driver shall consume any alcoholic beverage or beer or possess an open container of alcoholic beverage or beer while operating a motor vehicle in this state.
(2) For purposes of this section:
(A) "Open container" means any container containing alcoholic beverages or beer, the contents of which are immediately capable of being consumed or the seal of which has been broken;
(B) An open container is in the possession of the driver when it is not in the possession of any passenger and is not located in a closed glove compartment, trunk or other nonpassenger area of the vehicle; and
(C) A motor vehicle is in operation if its engine is operating, whether or not the motor vehicle is moving.
(b) (1) A violation of this section is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by fine only.
(2) For a violation of this section, a law enforcement officer shall issue a citation in lieu of continued custody, unless the offender refuses to sign and accept the citation, as provided in § 40-7-118.
(c) The provisions of this section shall not be construed to prohibit any municipality, by ordinance, or any county, by resolution, from prohibiting the passengers in a motor vehicle from consuming or possessing an alcoholic beverage or beer in an open container during the operation of such vehicle by its driver, or be construed to limit the penalties authorized by law for violation of such an ordinance or resolution.
so I really hate to ask this question but I haven't heard of this before, in the rules of bonnaroo it says you can bring a certain amount of alcohol per person per car. What I don't get is the per person per car? English is my second language believe it or not so there are some stuff I haven't heard of or confuse me. Can anyone lend a hand?
So you should be fine in Tennessee if you have it in the glove box or trunk.
Cool thanks! That's good to know, in some states it doesn't matter where the container is and even an empty beer can in the trunk under the spare tire can get you a ticket.

Each person in the car can bring in the allowed amount of booze. 1 person in the car - 2 cases of beer, one 1.75 liter of hard liquor, and 2 boxes of wine. 2 people in the car - 4 cases of beer, two 1.75 liter of hard liquor, and 4 boxes of wine. 4 people in the car - you get the idea!
So you should be fine in Tennessee if you have it in the glove box or trunk.
if you have one less beer (or solo cup or unsealed plastic bottle full of liquor) than people in the car and the driver isn't holding one or have it in their cup holder, you will (should) not get in trouble for an open container according to state law. We used to drink (as passengers) in the car all the time when I lived in Tennessee. Coffee county is a dry county though, so local laws are a bit more strict than state laws so municipal police could still give you a hard time. But really unless you are obviously flaunting your shiz it won't be a problem.

Coffee County is actually a "moist" county, so you can buy liquor in retail stores but not by the drink. But yes you're correct, open container laws in TN are actually more lenient than I originally thought.
I always bring a lot of booze, but it's already spread across various coolers and on ice by the time I get to the gate. In my previous 5 Bonnaroos, not a single sh*t has been given by any volunteer at the gate.
Yeah, we do the exact same thing! And always bring more than what it says you can bring. If it's already in the cooler on ice, there's no point in bothering with checking limitations.
