Yeah I don't think that would be an issue even if you caught 1/2 of WK. I've literally never had an issue getting as close as I want (w a group) at main stage. Main stage, left side, easy breezy.
last year i had no problem getting close by showing up just 20 min early. i remember going to see the roots like 15-20 min before they started and couldnt believe i made it within about 10 feet from the stage so easily it was great. i plan on waiting about an hour for outkast after eating, buying some more booze and hitting the bathroom. hopefully it all works out.

I plan on camping out all day at the main stage for the black keys. The only thing I am missing i really care about is QOTSA and I have seen them before. Do those who have been before think I will have a lot of competition for a rail spot?
God damnit. I wanna see them too. They were a big surprise at Coachella. I knew they sounded decent live but I thought they killed their set this weekend. Not missing Reignwolf though.

Let me preface by saying I will never EVER forgive THE Hangout festival for the most brutal of conflicts between Pretty Lights and the Killers. Pretty Lights should be on the beach and he should have that Jack Johnson slot. That being said here is my daily lineup based on what will be the best experience for me and my girlfriend and based on how easy we can see acts we are missing. Conflicts were bad.
FRIDAY herobust RAC Balkan Beat Box Ingrid Michaelson Claude VonStroke Wiz Khalifa Childish Gambino Queens of the Stone Age STS9
SATURDAY RDGLDGRN Diarrhea Planet NeedtoBreathe Tegan and Sara Tommy Trash Matt and Kim Modest Mouse Fitz and the Tantrums A bit of the Flips The Killers
SUNDAY Caked Up Blackberry Smoke Mimosa Bastille Capital Cities Portugal. The Man Zedd Jack Johnson Outkast

Absolutely not. I'd think as long as you're there by Dawes you can be as close as you want. Go left of the sound booth and you'll be free. Plus more accessible bathrooms and beer (and the people are nicer over there).
How bout they move Bastille to that garbage slot on Saturday from like 2-4. I know there's bands people wanna see in that window but I'd rather see any of those 3 in that window- Portugal, Bastille, or Reignwolf over whats there currently.
yea they did us no favors mpving Bastille from playing vs P the Man to Reignwolf. there was a better chance of me seeing them if they stayed up agsinst portugal but now no shot at all.

Bastille should have been on the beach in the first place. This is a good fix in terms of popularity and getting the biggest crowds on the beach. Not happy about missing Reignwolf now, but Portugal v Bastille was splitting up my household.
May Tycho May Phoenix June Rooo July MMJ and Margo Price August Queen with Adam Lambert August Roger Waters (Bucket list #1) August Spoon and Portugal the man Sept Depeche Mode Sept Pilgrimage Fest
Yeah I agree with that. Reignwolf is perfect for the Palladia stage. Same with Bastille on the beach. Their crowd would have been way too big for their original spot.
HOF first timer. Just wondering how parking is at the fest, how much it costs per day, and how early I'd have to leave in the morning to get a good spot. I'm staying at a friend's condo to save money about 20 miles away from the beach so I was wondering how parking would go down. Thanks guys

From all I have seen (1st year we took the shuttle, second year did bikes and this year are close enough to walk) parking is very limited and you will pay, seems like most of the signs I saw were $20. Personally I would park at one of the shuttle locations and ride a bike or walk from there. Plenty of people do both. Biking out at night no the north entrance was a bit scary though, lots of traffic and the sidewalks start and stop a bunch.

Plenty of street parking in the neighborhoods to the left and right of the T. Might be a bit of a hike depending on how early you get there (a mile).
Or you can pay $10-20 to park in a lot.
I've done both. Usually by Sunday I just pay because I'm tired of walking. Have never done the shuttle.
I'm staying in fairhope. I would prefer to drive and find parking everyday, but I'm worried I won't be able to do so. If I can't I was going to drive to the pelican place shuttle and take shuttle to the festival. Has anyone with experience at the festival know if it would be safe to take the chance of not getting a shuttle pass and just parking at someone's house each day?
I'll also say its a great idea to pick the brains of the owner of whatever lawn/lot you're in. I've seen MASSIVE lines build up after the fest (obviously everyone leaves at the same time). Cops also block certain streets in certain directions for ab 5 blocks each direction from fest entrances. The past 2 years I've been told short cuts thru yards that absolutely saved hours over the course of the weekend. Being able to get pointed in the right direction on the right road means the world at 1130. The locals know the grounds, just ask for advice! Hahaha, the look on people's faces when you drive by 100 cars in line, cut thru a yard, and dominate everyone is truly amazeballs.
For the record, I got a house on the beach within shuttle/walking distance to avoid all of this. Driving is way dangerous even if you're sober.
yea i stayed a mile up the highway and walked everyday. traffic seemed to be pretty bad and i saw 2 accidents one being kinda bad if i remember right. did see at least lot type places to park on my walk

My buddy drove in every day and parked at a place called Ribs and Reds (it is just outside of festival grounds, behind the Boom Boom Tent). I'm not sure if they plan on doing it again, but last year they had a deal where you park for $20 (a day), and if you eat/drink inside that goes toward your tab.

man i hate i'm missing this for the first time! i have so many other awesome things to look forward to this summer, but it still hurts missing hangout. i hope everyone has an incredible time.
went to see the Revivalists last night who absolutely killed it but Moon Taxi opened for em and they were pretty good but i was saying to my friend that the one guy on the guitar didnt really look into it at all and towards the end of the set BOOM they hit us with Bullet in the head from RATM and this dude starts going wild on stage and sounded awesome gonna really consider seeing that As People of the Sun set now i was really impressed.
