Definitely educated in my opinion. Since I wasn't a member during the fest, I guess I never got anything in on this year. I know there was a lot of complaining about the Chevy Stage. I agree with the Chevy Stage sound issues that everyone mentioned. I was up front, beachside, for Flaming Lips and Portugal the Man, and those sets sounded really good. For everything we were toward the back for, I had to strain to try to hear. I very much enjoyed the upgrade in food and the Alabama Gulf Seafood Courtyard.
As for my favorite shows of the weekend, Rock/Bands: STS9, Queens of the Stone Age, Flaming Lips (cover of David Bowie's Heroes was probably my favorite moment at both Hangout and Wakarusa this year), Moon Taxi as People of the Sun (didn't see the 2nd set) Portugal the Man, Gary Clark Jr., Reignwolf, Gemini Club (which we went and saw the end of since we couldn't hear Queens that well), and the little of Shorty & Orleans Ave I caught. For rap, I enjoyed Wiz and Outkast, Wiz was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. For electronic(a), I really dug the Mimosa set, and I found the Bloody Beetroots insane. You would think it would be hard to swtich from Electronic to what was almost guitar-based hardcore punk, but when they felt like picking up the guitars, they killed it. Pretty Lights was also pretty great, but I was pre-ordained to be locked into letdown mode after seeing the full band set at Champions Square after Phish first Saturday of Jazzfest. So while I knew it would be good, it wasn't going to live up to the standard set by that Champions Square set. There was a lot of fun random stuff we saw like Andrew WK, Diarrhea Planet, RDGLDGRN, Balkan Beat Box, Space Face and maybe ALO which I had never heard of before and had no idea they had that big of a following. But that was definitely a set I wished I could have seen more of.
To get this in here, as for my all time favorite Hangout sets (2012, 2013, 2014), I have Chris Cornell 2012, Trey Band 2013, Big Gigantic 2013, Public Enemy 2013, String Cheese 2012 (only saw the 1st set unfortunately), Lips doing Dark Side of the Moon 2012, Jim James in 2013, Black Crowes 2013, Dispatch 2012 (I think) and probably Stevie Wonder although I know he kind of went off the rails toward the end (I still thought it was great). Having been able to have seen Randy Newman and Steve Winwood also crossed a couple of names of the bucket list. Winwood was a particularly good set.

I saw the fanfueled.com thing prior to this years fest. I did a bunch of the activities and got enough to get a free Hangout Shirt but I wasn't able to attend this years fest so I just left my points in there. I see they have some new activities now. Do you know if they actually offer tickets? That would be amazing.

This link is from 2013 Fest. They did it this year too. You had to be top point person and you got Super VIP. Basically only 2 people had a chance to get free tickets. I got enough points to get a T-shirt and Sweatshirt. They were leftover from 2013. Cool freebees. The basis of this is to help sell tickets and last year sold out and will sell out quicker this year as more and more people keep attending and telling friends how great it is.
