I get my wristband package in the mail and started looking throught the contents with excitement. After reading the flyers and such I start messing with the wristband. Im looking at the clip on it and was confused on how it should be working. So I hand it to my friend since I was confused. He looks at it and starts messing with it. He ended up clipping the wristband (not on his wrist btw). Once it was clipped we realized that it wasnt going to adjustable and from that point only destroying will make it come free.
The wristband barely fits around my hand and then fits loose around my wrist. I know they are not going to like it like that and I would much prefer it to be on tight while im there so it doesnt get lost. I thought of using a safety pin or something to snug up the wristband. But it may look suspicious if they notice that.
I would have figured in the envelope they would have a disclaimer on how not to screw up the wristband. Instead there was small notice somewhere about the video online about wristband info. I think there should have been a small peice of paper with wristband saying something along the line of "Hey dummy dont get too excited and try to put on your wristband. It is not adjustable. Please watch istructional video first so you dont mess it up and you wont be stressing out for a month before the festival."
How worried should I be about this? I emailed Bonnaroo yesterday but I dont know how long it might take for them to get back to me. I just dont want it to turn into a big hassle once I get to the farm.

edit: Follow Dave's advice and try to talk to a person before proceeding...
First take a deep breath.
This is not official Bonnaroo advice, it is what I would do if I were you...
Don't tamper with the wristband to try and release the clamp. Register the wristband as you normally would. Bring it with you and when you get to the tollbooth tell them you had a "malfunction" and ask if you can replace it with another wristband that fits better. They may or may not have replacements at the gate (I expect they would). If they don't have a replacement band at the gate, you may be able to get assistance as you're entering Centeroo or at an Information tent.
I wouldn't sweat it. I expect they'll be prepared to take care of issues like this.

Thanks. And please be nice, I can be sensitive.
This looks like an instruction manual on how to ruin your roo trip before you even leave the house. How the fck do people actually do crap like this? Last year it was people who put on the their wristband when they weren't supposed to, this year, you are supposed to put it on, but people will inevitably fck that up too! Sorry bro, things just aren't as idiot proof as the used to be. Not trying to be a d!ck here, but are you really advocating instructions from roo on how not to fck up your wristband. How about don't be fckin around with $250.00 wristband until its time to put it on!
Alas, What Dave said, you best be callin music today with the quickness dude!

theamazingswan there is a customer service at every tollbooth. Usually they get a few wristbands with broken clips or the scanner dosnt read the chip. Im sure there will be more people on standby for this now that they let everyone put their own bands on. They should be able to help you out and assign you a new wristband when ya go through the toll.

Excitement clouds the mind.
I don't ever have issues with handling the wristbands when they arrive....but i'd be lying if I didn't check the envelope every few days to make sure it's still in there/I didn't misplace it somehow.

You will be fine....just talk to somebody to ease your mind. If you have a legit wristband with you then you will be fine....whether they need to replace it or do something to the one you have. Enjoy Roo

Thank you Dave Maynar for the contact information. Customer service at music today really didnt have much to say about it. They basically said that if my wristband wasnt broken/tampered with and if I was able to wear it there would be no problems.
Like nature boy said, I was pretty confident that once I was there it should be something that could be fixed easily.
Im sure that there are a lot of first-timers making the same mistake. I really had no idea at the time that once you clip the wristband there is no going back.
I figured posting here would be good because someone must have had an experience with a loose wristband before. Thank you all, I do feel better about it now. And I must be adopting the bonnaroo code already because I did really well on withholding sarcastic response to roofanintn

If calling support doesn't help (though I suspect they'll hook you up), I worked tollbooths last year for volunteering and I can talk you through this.
Last year if we ran into a broken/snapped-on/malfunctioning wristband we told people to go through the tollbooths and park along the side of the road. There was a trailer to the right where customer service was helping people with these issues. BE SURE TO TAKE A PRINTOUT OF YOUR PURCHASE EMAIL AND SOME ID, we were told that makes the process much easier since you can just waltz up and prove it's not stolen or anything. They'll give you a replacement, no issues.

Thanks! I will make sure to have a copy of my order confirmation on me

So helpful! You may have prevented a panic attack (or several, for people who find this at a later date).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Wait, but hold on. If I understand the OP, he could still fit the wristband over his hand, it just wasn't snug on his wrist. Um. While you can't loosen these things once on, unless they've changed the format, why the hell coudn't it be tightened? So, what was the issue here?
Yes, the construction this year has it where it sets at one spot rather than what it used to be where you could always tighten it more.

Email from Bonnaroo said I will have to get a new wristband once I get to the festival, no problems. But it sounds like they still charge the $10 replacement fee the same as if they they need to mail you a new one. No biggy... I guess one less drink from the broo'ers tent
