While Alice Cooper was my favorite show last year, I knew it would be because he's my favorite artist. The bands who came out of nowhere to blow me away were Dirty Guv'nahs and Mariachi El Bronx. Knew nothing about either of them prior to the festival and have them both on regular shuffle on the Ipod since last year.

YES! We are in complete agreement on both of those bands. Really wasn't expecting much but then WOW. What an amazing way to kick off Thursday last year. I am now a HUGE Mariachi El Bronx fan, kinda obsessed. They absolutely killed it, it was awesome.
Last year I walked away a Radiohead fan when I previously had not listened to them. I <3 Bonnaroo.
radiohead converted my friends too. they were anti-head because of previous festival sets, specifically lolla, where they were unopposed and the crowd was too big. we got into the pit and they loved it.
