So every one has their own plans for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, Dinner, supper AND fourth meal. I wanna talk about snacks though. Both what do you grab to keep you going, just some granola bars? String cheese? Yogurt? Yogurt seems like not a great choice given the heat BUT what do I know? Do you make your own trail mix? Do you include mini M&M's and mini Reese's Pieces like I plan to? What kind of Jerky? Gooooooooooooo!!!

I tend to keep it simple with granola bars as they are durable and don't require refrigeration. As far as yogurt goes, you'll need to keep it refrigerated in the cooler weekend which will require some ice runs during the weekend. Also, I can help think of some advice from a great man.
Dave, that exact scene was going through my head when I was thinking about yogurt!! I was actually thinking about goquirt the yogurt in the tubes for kids BUT you totally are sharing my wave length!

Is gogurt shelf stable? I just ask because I have always seen it in the dairy section. Really, yogurt is different than milk. I just always think about contingencies.

Pretty much beef jerky and CLIF bars the whole time.
But seriously, the most refreshing thing you can do is pack a few bags of baby carrots in the cooler. Holy shit those are great to snack on when it's hot outside.
Last year I found that yogurt mixed with oats was really good - the complex carbs helped for sustained energy. Our cooler was full of frozen water bottles, and we only made one ice run the whole time, if that. Other than that, it's CLIF bars all the way (don't eat them with an excessively dry mouth unless you have a water bottle handy - I started choking while going solo at Flying Lotus last year and it was a very scary situation. I.e. Don't do dumb things like me lol).

Beef jerky (so much of it), Clif Bars, trail mix, protein bars, and something sweet (M&M's, Reese Pieces, candy bars, something). That's all you really need. I've brought fruit and yogurt and all kinds of stuff in years past but I never eat it. Fruit is great to bring but I find it more hassle than it's worth, I like my fruit cold so it's hard to do that at 'Roo without taking up valuable cooler space.
Not sure if this is allowed but i will be bringing a bunch of bags of this www.meatnnuts.com/ My friend has created this and is basically giving me a ton of free bags to give away. i'll probably be bringing a ton to the brunch, they are a great festival food!! and great for hiking and camping in general
Edit: and by allowed i mean advertising for my friends snack food...

You shall get a free bag at the brunch. The jerky is freaking delicious.

Hmm 3 oz for $8. Most jerky seems to run about $2 an oz, and most nuts/dehydrated fruit around $4-$6 a pound. I think I will stick with making my own trail mix for now. Everything may be really high end, they charge $5 an ounce for the jerky in the mix!, but $32 a pound is too steep for my blood.
I've found that granola/protein bars and peanut butter crackers keep me sustained in between meals. Also, Capri Sun's are a staple for my campsite. Who doesn't love an ice cold juice box?

I always bring in granola bars or similar items to snack on through the day. I like to make sure all my snacks can withstand the heat.I have some Go Picnic meals to try this year.
