hey guys, just signed up for this website. I tried to reach bonnaroo services through email but no luck. I have a question regarding my ID and the festival.
I lost my Massachusetts state ID a few days ago. even if I order it tomorrow, it won't be here in time for the festival. I am 20 years old, turning 21 in December. My first question is, do they ID you? I'm guessing yes, they asked for my Id at bisco last year. Also, if I bring my picture high school Id from the year 2009-2010, with other papers to prove my identity, will they accept it? such as a pay stub, tax returns, etc? I don't have a license either. I lost my wallet.
really it's illegal to not have some sort of valid I.D. (thanks big brother) on you when in public, do you not have a DMV nearby?, they will issue a duplicate for a small fee, that being said, you are rolling the dice.. yes you should be ok (you are in the system) I'm not so concerned once you get to Bonnaroo, but a lot can happen on the journey.

It takes three weeks to get a replacement ID in MA? Good lord. Like swamprat said, try going down to the local DMV. In TN, they will print you a new ID right then and there for less than $10, I think.
Edit: Assuming you are not driving, the only time I really think you might get asked for ID is when you get beer (sometimes). Since you're 20, the ID wouldn't really help you there either.
Quote: "You may apply for a Massachusetts ID at any full service RMV office. You will be given a temporary Mass ID, valid for 30 days, at the branch, and a permanent Mass ID will be mailed to you."
The documentation requirements look pretty straightforward.
Edit: lived in Boston for eight years; went many rounds with the DMV in my time.

You should attempt to get some sort of temporary ID at the local office. If something happens to your wristband and you have no identification, you might be screwed. Also, as depressing as it sounds, if something were to happen while at Roo, health-wise, its very important to have some means of identification.

Speaking as one of the vendors, if you are planning to consume Bonnaroo Sold alcoholic beverages, you will need to be ID'd and have a wristband put on. I will be one of the ones doing this again this year. No ID= No Wristband = NO beer
just saw you are 20... well hope this info helps others too.

That's weird you cant just get one. I can walk into the DMV here in Missouri and get a new one printed for $9.50. It only takes 5 minutes once you get through the line. They have a little machine that prints them.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I can attest to the fact that the RMV in Massachusetts can only provide you with paper documents, honestly I didn't know there were any states where you didn't have to wait a couple weeks to get your hard ID. WTF Mass?

I am going to chalk it up to a livin' in a red state win. If they put it to a vote, Tennessee probably wouldn't even require driver's licenses because "that sumb*tch Obama ain't gonna tell me what I can and can't do".
It is similar in Colorado. You can get a paper copy thing from the DMV but they have to mail the ID to you. many years ago there was a rash of breakin's where the machines were getting stolen to produce fake IDs. First big one was in a rural part of Colorado then a big one happened with like 3-4 machines right here in Denver. After that they moved the machines to a secret location and put in the new policy. Trust me it is a huge problem if you are in this spot. Places like Vegas laugh at your paper printed ID and could give a ffk about the state laws in Colorado.

Georgia issues paper ID's too now. You also need to basically sign over your first born child to get any sort of ID now...regardless if you're already in the system or now. The paper IDs are the WORST.

The is absolutely no law against not having a valid I.D. on you in public. You are not required to present identification unless you are doing something driving(valid license), carrying a gun(in some cities and states), and if your doing something that requires a specific age(smoking/drinking) or doing something supected of being illegal(must be reasonable). Not trying to be an ass. Just trying to debunk myths about the law. So if your not bringing beer, (which because your not 21 you shouldn't bring any ) you should be fine.
they dont call it taxachussets for nothing.... maybe they only have like 1 or 2 printers for the LIcenses...
What's funny about that label is last time I looked at the numbers, we were 10th or 11th in per-capita tax intake. We're fairly average, to be honest.
Besides that point though, I don't think our ID procedures have any connection to taxes. I think we'll eventually upgrade the RMV system here, but I'm not holding my breath.

TX representing with MA! Things may have changed since I last got mine renewed but we still get ours the old fashioned way snail mail.
You get your driver's license in Ohio at the DMV when you pay your fees ... I don't think there's an option to renew it by mail. I don't know about state issued IDs ...
i live in MA. i lost my wallet a few weeks ago (or thought I did). so i went online and paid for a duplicate (and found my wallet 20 minutes later). the duplicate came in the mail within the week. and i had to renew it on my birthday in january and it came in about 4 days. you really should be fine if you do it now unless you are walking there and gotta leave tomorrow
