I've been jogging the last few months, trying to get in shape for Roo. I had no idea they even did the Roo Run last year.. dunno how that got past me. Where is the starting point? It said so on the FB post, but I'm not familiar with where exactly they were talking about. Could anyone provide a land mark?
I hope that the non-runners come out in force like last year, complete with signs. The girls by the side of the road with the "THIS SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA A MONTH AGO" sign would be perfectly appropriate again this year.
I've been doing some running (jogging...walking) lately just to get back into shape. I did a 5k distance yesterday, and I'm in pain today. I'm determined to finish this though
Looking forward to this! Hopefully there will be more costumes this year. First timer participants...the roads used for the course will be a mix of dirt, gravel, and some asphalt. I would not wear vibrams.

uh oh, well, vibrams are the only running shoes I've got so this'll be even MORE fun!
Signed and paid here as well. Ran it last year and enjoyed. Said I would not do but it rather kept me from overdooing it the first two days. Ill be walking from pod 1 with easzman
Great time doing the Roo Run this morning! Winner ran the 5k around 16:30. Blazing fast. I managed to snag a ribbon even running with the horse head again.

Hey, this guy was setting my pace (then crushing my hopes) for the whole race. Whole morning, really, as I bumped into Mr. Horse first thing and reminisced about last year's run. Great seeing you again.
I ran roughly 33 mins, what was the average time for someone who got a ribbon?
In my times defense this 5k is the most physical exertion I've had since the first first annual roo run. I figure if I do absolutely nothing from roo run to roo run it's a perfect gauge of my physical ability from year to year. So in summary a year of corn and comfy couches has effectively dropped about 5 mins off last years time. My training regiment isn't for all but we produce results. Suck it crossfit!!

I came in around 27:00, and I think the box was getting pretty low at that point. My neighbor had a goal of 30:00, and said he came in just under that. I think he got one of the last 5 or so in the box.

I'm considering doing it this year. It's looked like a fine mix of fun and torture when I've seen it done in the past. Although, I haven't run in quite some while.
