ive been a every roo but the last couple, and heading back to the farm this summer with an artist pass that my sister got us (she works on music row in nashville).
anyways all of this info is killer so thanks a bunch, only two questions left
1. anyone know if there are showers or wash stations back in the artist/guest camping area?
2. i know the open bar is a killer perk but are there buffets back there too?
You will have access to showers in the guest camping area. Guest area has catered dinners and for the first time this year will have food available throughout the day.
Artist / Guest passes will not give you access to VIP at the stages... they do have areas reserved for you, just not the VIP area.

Cool! Thank you for the reply!
I'm still scouring for further info regarding where Artist/Guest viewing area is.
Where then in relation to the stage is this viewing area?
main stage will give you priority pit access and access to bleachers what stage will have a pit in front of VIP that you have preferred access to. all tents have a viewing area on one side... the side often changes without notice so be prepared to be confused.
I do know that artists get given stickers they can pass out to give awesome but limited access. They only cover certain days of the fest. Usually the day the artist plays. Those stickers usually dont let you into the artist lounge areas. I know the bands we got were right off of an artists wrists and I think your access does depend on which stage the act is playing. Our friends act was mainstage so that might be why we had super duper awesome access.
My neighbor has a colleague who works or manages Kendrick Lamar's security when he tours. He was under this assumption when I just asked him for shizz and giggles. He told me that he would let me know but acted like it would only be for the day that he performs. I like Kendrick but I don't want to miss Saturday. I'm hoping not this sticker thing if it even happens for me at all.

I had some hostel mates get artist guest passes through Haim at ACL '13. I think the only perks they received were access to the artist lounge and free drinks which is where I believe they spent the majority of that day of the fest. The guy was a bartender from LA who knew the band and he got two extra passes for two girls from Florida passing through Austin who had no plans of attending the fest. They were big Wanee fans though and gave me their wristbands for Saturday, but alas, they were only good for the day Haim was playing.

I saw a guy with an Infinity Pass before. It looked magical and time slowed down.
As for artist wristbands, congrats. If you are friends/family of artist you get them. Artist hospitality is behind the Which as well as guest Camping. You'll have two exits that you can head right into centeroo both to the What and Which. Open bar and artist hospitality access along with pretty much free roam anywhere besides the stage itself are the perks. Best wristband basically you can have and right in between The All Supreme Lanyards and Staff Wristbands.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in crawfish and drank x2 my weight in free beer before Elton John last year in the artist hospitality tent. Didn't visit it all weekend till then.
They never had crawfish when I was in there! Wtf! Pretty sure they never had any free food at all when I was in there. Just that one BBQ food truck that you had to pay for. (And was only mediocre) But yea, the free beer is something I wish I could've taken advantage of more. I did a little bit, but you had to drink it in there and any time I wasn't working I wanted to be at a show. No time to linger in the artist tent when I had limited music viewing time.

Was it NOLA Crawfish King? That is my boy Shaggy. He is pretty cool and has taken to traveling to different festivals recently with his boils. Some of the best crawfish too, he's got that shit down to a science.
there is a free crawfish boil every sunday night in artist hospo, right after the last act on the what stage plays. it's tradition, the after-party of sorts. i don't eat fish anymore, but man, i am always tempted on sunday night!!!
