I put on my wristband tonight after registering. I didn't think you WOULDN'T be able to remove it
So now it's on. This is my first music festival ever. Am I screwed or am I okay?
Thanks inforoo. I've been lurking awhile and really enjoy this community. BonnaWu is gonna be a blast, assuming I can still go with my wrist band issue .
It is registered to my name and such though so I think I'm okay. As long as I don't get it wet and ruin the chip. But I'm just making sure I didn't fuck up badly. I read the policy change this year, they want it on beforehand now whereas previously they did not and registered it at the entry for you. So am I okay?

You can get it wet. Just take care of it, and you should be all set. Maybe, wrap some plastic wrap or a bag around it/your wrist when you shower or swim, etc. Should be good to go. :-)

I mean come on, "bassbroshops", really?
Not a troll man. And I bought my supplies at bass pro today!! Haha.
Why would you assume I'm a troll account? Because I'm a newbie? This isn't even trolling, it's a legitimate question that I registered on this website to be able to ask. I'm worried man, don't come in here with your assumptions. Not cool.

I know people who still have their 2009 wristband still on. So I think you will be good just be careful.

You can get it wet. Just don't rip it. Water is no issue at all.

What kind of job do you have. If your working in a office then their isnt so much to worry about, but if your in the oil field or something then wrap it up with something.
...I just did the same thing. I got my wristband weeks ago, but I was registering it tonight and was messing around with it and put it on, thinking you could take it off. I've only been to Roo once, in 2011, and we had plastic wristbands that year that they urged you not to put on, so I didn't even touch the thing. I just assumed that since they want you to put them on before hand this year, you would be able to remove them. The cloth wristband made me think they were removable as well. I was wrong, obviously.
So, it is OK if it gets wet? I don't need to worry about being in the shower for the next week and a half?
They can get wet, showered in mine twice a day at last roo and got in the fountain too. Just do not get it close to a magnet or bend the plastic part holding the RFID too much. This also means being careful at store checkouts where they have security tags demagnetizers. A strong magnet will kill it quickly or physical damage to the RFID.
I know Bonnaroo states to put the wristband on your right wrist, but do you think they'll give much guff for putting it on the left hand? OCD thing ... asking for a friend.

I like to think Phi is arguing with himself/herself (sorry... I should know this but I don't.)

I don't think they would give you any "guff" but it might make your friend's life slightly more annoying on the farm. The guy at the entrance put mine on the left wrist the first year they started doing this and every time I entered Centeroo I had to reach across to scan my wrist. It was a bit of a nuisance since I was also holding my recently rummaged backpack and everything else. It definitely is a much smoother entry when it's on the correct wrist.

Another wristband-related thing: Was anyone else rushed through the facebook option when they registered? I was going to opt-out as I don't want an update to be sent to everyone I know each time I apply powder to my nethers. Either my computer or the site rushed me through the "skip it" page and automatically signed me up. Eh well, might as well visit the Fiesta booth, enter a few more times to win a car, and announce it to THE WORLD!

I put mine on my left wrist. Not because I didn't know better, but because I like to live dangerously!!!!!!! Really though, having anything on my right wrist bugs the heck out of me. I don't think it will cause me any trouble other than having to reach over to scan it. Which doesn't bother me.
