I've never gotten to see him in a festival setting, I'm pretty pumped. Plus I'll be surprised if he doesn't have some guests considering all the other jazz artists there this year.

I'd be pumped but it conflicts with my biggest Bonnaroo draw after Macca, Inforoo Brunch. I left early last year to see Michael Kiwanuka and missed the QSAROO winners happy dances. The videos from those were classic..

I have now decided I will wait for the main stage to open on Friday and bee line it to the right side of the stage behind the pit and set up camp for the day. It has come to this. Opening the day with some shorty is the way to be.
I would be there, for sure... He was the obvious highlight from when I saw Lenny Kravitz in 2006, as a virtual unknown the guy absolutely stole the show. Also, the set in 09 (or was it 10?) with Galactic on What is one of the underrated Roo sets that I've personally seen.

I'm in the same boat. I was SO excited to see him on the lineup, and then when the schedule came out I was super bummed. I still don't know what to do

He's on my must see list.
Short story: I've never heard of Trombone Shorty before in my life. I happen to be in New Orleans for the first time ever with a group of buddies. There was apparently some sort of school dance and a limo let out what seemed like 20 or 30 kids in their dresses and tuxes onto Bourbon Street. Next thing you know these kids start munching on corn right in the middle of the street. So, like most idiots I know, we went and chatted up the high school kids and borrowed some corn. Next thing I know I'm walking into a bar/club to watch some random band I've never heard of. I had absolutely no idea what I was walking into. Yep, Trombone Shorty. I can't explain how good of a time we had that night. I'll be dancing my ass off at his set.

I don't think you will want to leave the brunch just as it is really getting good. Shorty plays another set sometime during the weekend, but I can't remember when and don't feel like looking it up right now. I'm sure it conflicts with something else but not equally as awesome as brunch.
