I was gonna say I had no idea who this was, then I remember reading terrific reviews for his album (hairy guy in a white suit, IIRC). I still gotta check that album out.

I saw those pictures too. I don't know why I think he is more professional than that. A gig is a gig. When I was in jr high Garth brooks signed a contract to play our county fair as a nobody but between signing the contract and the actual fair he blew up bigger than anything with his first album. He tried to get out but the county fair wouldn't let him out. So I saw Garth brooks at a county fair in October 1989! The point is only illness or injury should get you out of a gig.
This a great opportunity to get people who may never see or hear of you otherwise into your music. I did not know who MmJ was in 04 and the thunder dome set blew me away.

Interesting. I saw Garth at a tiny little fair in a place called Plant City Florida just outside of Tampa. This wasnt even the main county fair it was something called thr Strawberry Festival because they grow lots lf strawberries there. I might have been 10?
He already got moved once from Saturday. Maybe the Polyphonic Spree can fill in..
you're right maybe its not his fault maybe they tried moving him again. You would think they could get lower tier acts (I like him too but he's not headlining nor is he even a second tier act) to free up the two or three days in advance in their contracts in anticipation of such maneuvering. I just hope everything is alright with him and his band.
I will be very upset if I don't see him... He was high up on my must-see list. Also, Karosko might cry (stupid Proboards is not letting us tag again..)

"Concerning Bonnaroo:
Due to more touring in the last 10 months than I have ever experienced, my voice has taken quite a beating. Although things will eventually be fine I have had to, unfortunately, cancel my appearance at Bonnaroo to give my throat a rest. As of right now it isn’t working properly at all - no way for a singer to be. To be clear, it is an honor to be asked to play such a festival and I take the invitation very seriously. Cancelling is a last option and only one I consider as it affects my long term health.
For all those that expressed such enthusiasm for my appearance I am extraordinarily bummed I can’t spend time making music with you, have a wonderful time, I’m so sorry that I will miss it, fingers crossed we can do it again soon.
