Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.

I love this time of year. I literally get goosebumps in June and I love Bonnaroo and everything fun and fantastic that goes with it. The one downer is this: Lately, it seems we lose one of our own each year at Bonnaroo. I am not gonna tell people what they should or should not do while on the farm. All I ask is if you do certain things, do them in moderation and preferably with friends who will look at for you. Remember water. Water is so important.
I am simply asking this year for ALL of us to be careful and watch out for each other. If you have a Bonnaroo buddy list on your phone, check in with people and make sure they are ok. Don't just assume someone is ok. It only takes a few moments to check on each other and I sincerely hope this is the year that when we do get back from Bonnaroo, all of us will still be around to come back next year.

Thx Xrayspec but this is really more about all of us coming home safely. I love the Inforoo community. I look forward to seeing you guys there. Love when you yell my name out or come up and say hi....but most importantly, I would love to know that all you get to do it all again next year.

Hydration is important business, and this is not nearly enough water for one person over the whole weekend, maybe Thursday. Don't encourage people to only drink that much water.
People take the amount of water in this picture and triple it. That is how much water you want to drink during the weekend.
Really people. Let's do this right. We're professionals here. I don't want to hear any stories of some ones good time getting ruined because of the elements

Stay safe and have fun.
I've found drinking 12 oz per show to be a good amount, regardless of whether or not I'm drinking beer, etc. If it's hotter, I would recommend more. With a 24oz water bottle, I found myself filling up a minimum of three times a day, on top of filling up in the morning before shows.
FWIW, I will have two 5 gallon jugs of Pure Ro Filtered water with me in addition to two cases of bottles. ill also have at least 2 buckets of tap water (used for canopy weight). Anyone who dont have enough is welcome to look me up.
I freeze a case, chill a case and bring two extra cases of water to replenish my cooler so I always have cold water on hand. Typically, I drink all four cases. Seriously, if you need water while you're out seeing shows, ask for it! I have no problem giving up a bottle, and can't imagine anyone who has been to Bonnaroo would either. I have a feeling Roo is going to be another hot one, a la 2010 and '11, so be prepared! Dying at Roo '13 will definitely ruin your Roo '14. If last year was your first year, it wasn't typical! Let's all look out for each other and have an incident-free Roo this year <3
On the subject of water - START NOW. If you haven't started prepping your body for being outside in the elements, now is the time. You're supposed to drink half your body weight in ounces of water for a typical day. Do that now, then starting on Roo Wednesday - double triple it. For every alcoholic beverage you drink, drink 20 oz of water.
Not only is it smart, it'll help extend your partying ability because you're taking care of yourself and don't feel like shiz

I am not going back to the gym till after bonnaroo so I can begin to hydrate properly. I am drinking four 32 ounce glasses of water every day and 4 more 12 ounce green teas every day. I am definitely trying to fully hydrate my body before I leave for Tennessee. krissyjo is right. Start now, early and often with the water. Do not wait till you arrive at the festival to start drinking plenty of water.

Absolutely. Last year was lovely so I figure we're screwed this year. Pace yourself, you can't see everything and do everything as much you'd love to.
I came across a thread that had a video of a guy who was obviously on something and most everyone in the thread talked about how no one who was standing around in the video tried to help the guy.
Don't be those people!
You can do everything 100% right and feel good all weekend, but there are inevitably those who won't be smart like Inforoosters.
If you see someone passed out in the sun, nudge them. Make sure they're okay before you pass by. They may growl at you because you woke them up, but I'd rather be woken up by a caring individual than by an EMT - or not at all.
If one of your friends parties too hard and can't figure out what planet they're on, make sure they at least have water and a sober buddy who can make sure they stay safe.
**Story Time**
I had a friend at my first Roo (2009) who ingested who-knows-what combination of things pretty much as soon as he got there and kept on that track the whole weekend. There were 4 of us in our group and we laid in the Which field for 2 hours to make sure we had a good spot for Nine Inch Nails. Show starts, lights flash, our friend's face blanked and he fell straight back. We yelled at him, slapped him, did everything we could to get some sort of response. Nothing but a blank stare. A big guy came out of nowhere, scooped our friend up, and started heading out of the crowd. I shoved my way through the massive crowd to get to the soundboard to get a medical crew and told someone with a radio we had him against the fence to the left of the stage. When I got back to the fence, our friend was awake, confused, and pissed. We told him he needed to just stay there so someone could come check him out. He was pissed at us for losing the Nine Inch Nails spot we waited for. He had no recollection of what just happened, though to us, it seemed like he was dead for a good 5 minutes. Terrifying. When he realized the medic team would be there soon, he got angrier, jumped up, and ran. We followed as best we could, but he was gone. 2 hours waiting for a prime spot, we hear 2 songs, then because of his stupid decisions, we miss the entire show.
I don't regret helping him, and I'm glad he was okay in the end, but remember to keep yourself in check, because it's not only your Roo you can ruin.

We've got a whole thread devoted to this topic with lots of great advice. It's not a joke that people, including Inforoosters, have died at Bonnaroo. I don't know or care about the vast majority of you (nothing personal). But it bums me out when people die at Roo. So for me, please, take care of yourself just a little.
