This year went inverse for me. usually it starts out with 20 people saying "totally dude, i am going this year" and then 2 weeks outside of bonnaroo 60% drop out. this year i had only 7 confirms and now i have 15 people going. We are all leaving from Nashville so it isn't like we are killing polar bears by not carpooling as much as possible...
but we have about 5 cars as of now, with a single person in them, the other 4 cars have 3 people. Beyond the logistical nightmare of keeping all these cars together, do you think the gate people put direct you to a worse camping spot if you lack carpooling?
Just remember to be nice to the volunteers working the gate (toss em a redbull or water) when trying to stay together...and if the cops tell you to go another direction (to another gate due to high traffic volume) just make sure you all get out of line to go (they could care less if you have a 'caravan'). Otherwise it's all a crapshoot

This. In '09, I went with a large caravan. The first 3 cars were directed in the temporary exit off the interstate. After that, the deputy told the 4th car to go up the regular exit. The driver of the 4th car explained that we were all together, so we wanted to stick together. The deputy basically said that was nice, but we needed to go to the regular exit. At that point, the driver of the 4th car decided to say "f*ck the police" and drive in the temporary exit anyway. The sheriff then jumped in front of his car and informed the driver that, if he didn't throw his car into reverse and go in the entrance he was directed to, he would be forced to remove the driver from the vehicle and take him to jail. The look on his face and his liberal use of profanity indicated he was not making a joke, so we ended up making two separate camps that year.

Why dont you try to find people to take, you dont have to camp with them. There are certainly alot of camp inforooers who camp tent only that may need rides. Why not? you can get some companionship, some loot for gas and that whole its good for the earth thing. Check the message boards for people needing rides (This Tent). You can also look on Rickeyrides.com and find people who need rides. Having 5 cars with 1 person in it is alot of room you could utilize. Happy Rooing my friend P.S One other bonus I think if you have four or more people in your car get put in a special drawing for the Ford Fiesta
