Well, I have been searching for about two hours now and most threads are from years gone by. This is our first Roo and we're bringing a 3 year-old and a 16 year-old in a RV - who else out there is bringing kids to Roo 2013???????

There will be some, but not many, kids there. I'll have a 7- 10- and 13-year-old boy there. It will be fine if you remember, especially with the toddler, that they go at a different pace than adults and have different attention spans. Be prepared to leave shows early, whether out of their boredom or the heat. Be prepared to not get where you want to be, when you want to be there. There is a kids' jam area where they can get shade and play on little toys and make stuff - the 16-year-old won't care for this, but your toddler will love it. A good way to get cool quick for a teenager might be the water slides. Be prepared to be open-minded and explain things that your teenager will see, that he probably doesn't see in everyday life. It can really be amazing in so many different ways. Have fun.
We will be bringing out 7 year old daughter, almost 8 years (July) there in a few days. Family camping of course. We weren't going to until I read a lot of the positive stories from people that have brought their children. As long as you are attentive to them and recognize their needs, I really think it is a great experience. Kidz Jam seems to be a fantastic place throughout the day for them. I saw that on another board, Kidz Jam said a couple hundred children come through there every day for all kinds of fun activities. Hope you guys have a great time!
I'm bringing my 16 yr old. We will also be in family camping- but roughing it. I took him to Further Festival and Phish shows from ages 1-3 and did fine. You should be good- especially with an RV. Lots of sunscreen, water, and a stroller/ backpack.

We will be going to our first Roo. We are bringing our almost 4 year old and staying in family camping. In the past 2 years we have taken her to a lot of outdoor concerts from a handful of people to about a few thousand, several NHL games, a lot of baseball games, and a few football games with 50,000+ people. She is excited about the camping after having a backyard adventure. We are bringing a wagon for when she gets tired of walking and to let her fall asleep for the later concerts. She doesn't like strollers because she is a big girl. She fell asleep in Daddy's lap for the last 4 songs at an outdoor concert a few months ago. I wish we had thought of the wagon then.

Yea, we can't wait....I promised my 16 yo that we would see all the living Beatles before they died - we saw Ringo last year and now Paul is coming up fast!
Hey! I have been doing the same search. I am bringing my 2.3 year old and have been hoping to connect with other families! I have been to Bonnaroo twice, in the past. This was pre-motherhood, though, and I am anxious to know how this year with a toddler in tow will be!

Kudos to all of you bringing children; taking care of my own self scares me enough. And to those with sixteen-year-olds, know that they probably know what's going on at the festival. High school is pretty much a four year-long Bonnaroo without the music, if you know what I mean.
I am bringing my almost 6 year old son, this is his third roo, not counting in my belly. we brought a wagon when he was little but this year I think we will be leaving it at home. kidz jam is great also the water slide was a huge hit for him and the adults were great about letting him and a few other kids skip the long ass line...
I will end up in Family again if I cannot get a parking pass for guest area and a second guest pass for the hubs (already have a single guest pass) the only downside to guest is having to walk through the various side streets and have the dealers and buyers yell out the druq phrases I HATE that, HATE it!!! the plus to family is your kid will find another kid to chill with, there is a little shade along the edge... close to potties..... and the vibe inside family is better due to the lack druq talk/shouts
