One would think that after five years of Bonnaroo, I'd know pretty much all there is to know. Well, considering that every year I've gone, it's been with at least 1-7 other people, the work always gets divided amongst everyone. As a female, I was wondering if there were some things that I may not think of being alone? Things that aren't as obvious? I'm driving from Ohio. Thinking about leaving Wednesday afternoon to give me enough time to get there just in case I get lost. I'm thinking of just sleeping in my car instead of trying to put up a tent. Would like to bring an EZ Up, but not sure how that's gonna go, alone and in the grass.
Sorry this post is kind of everywhere. Just looking for some helpful advise for those who travel and go to Roo solo.

It could get really hot in your car. I'd imagine if you brought an EZ Up and stakes to stake it down that your neighbors would help you set it up, especially if they could hang out with you in the shade. By the way, I'm from Columbus, Oh.

Definitely take an EZ Up. I stopped bringing a tent 2 years ago and have been fine without. I sleep in my car or under the EZ Up. Ummm. Everything else is about the same. Food, water, whatever. Going alone is great, I have only done it once but it was probably my favorite year. As Whoreshack mentioned you can always meet up with Inforoo people at brunch or whatever!

I was thinking of asking neighbors, but every year, everyone is in such a rush to get their own camp set up, I feel like I'd be a nuisance asking. Maybe I'll brings goodies to lure them in, or just offer shade. Haha. I'm from northern Ohio, by Cedar Point. I've never driven this long before alone and am kind of nervous.

I'm from Cleveland and felt the same way when I drove solo from Cleveland to Asheville, NC (Approx 8-9 hours) by myself last year for Moogfest. I ended up singing and talking to myself a lot out of boredom in the car. Make sure for your ride that you are well rested and stop every 2-3 hours or so to take a break, buy some coffee, use restroom, etc.
As far as getting lost, not sure if GPS is an option, but if not, I take from Ohio I-71 southbound (or from Huron/Sandusky, OH take I-75 SB through to Cincinnati) through KY and stay on I-71 SB through Louisville, KY. Once in Louisville you want I-65 SB down through the TN state line. Once you hit Nashville just hop on I-24 EB and just lookout for Bonnaroo exits signs eventually.
As far as once you get there, I don't think you should have too much trouble finding neighbors to help you. Yes, you are correct, there is that mad dash to set up when everyone arrives. But if you introduce yourself, ask nicely for help, you are bound to get help, especially if you offer to help your neighbors set up as well. Goodies help too
If you are going solo I would definitely make friends with your neighbors, offer to look out for their belongings in turn for them doing the same for you.
From one Ohioan to another, I hope some of this helps!!! The worst thing you can do is NOT GO because you are solo!

Hey tricia, I don't know if you've looked at the forecast for tomorrow, but here in Columbus they're talking about dericho winds - those straight line winds that hit central Ohio last June, causing millions in construction and closing roads - for tomorrow afternoon and night. You may want to consider leaving earlier Wednesday now to get south of that.

Girl I've found myself in a similar situation. Been since 2006 and my brother ditched me just today. So I'm doing a solo trek from Denver. Anyone know a spot at roo where solo people can meetup? I'm so bummed, roo is as much about the experience of meeting new people as the music is.
