Please drive so carefully, everyone! Stay alert and remember that most people coming in are tired from a long drive, which makes for hazardous driving. I know you all know that, but it bears repeating. Lots of love to my Roo family.

Just as an update for anyone following the story and wondering what the traffic is going to be like around Murfreesboro, the accident was supposed to be cleared by 11:00am (10 minutes from now) and looking at traffic on Google Maps, it's showing all green for the first time this morning, so anyone else passing through shouldn't have any traffic issues around the site of the accident.
And I feel terrible for those involved. These were people on their way to have a fun weekend and doing nothing wrong. Stay safe and keep an eye on your friends out there this weekend, we don't need any more tragedies.

When we came through the boro last night, the first semi truck accident had happened. We went to bradyville and around. After we arrived here we started reading about another fatal accident near where the first had been clearing up. That was the fatal one to my understanding.
I know its bonnaroo, but drive safe, no music festival is worth your life

RIP to Deja and Brandon. Things like this can happen anywhere at anytime while on the roads. Thoughts go out to their families and friends along with the other people injured.
Hate that we lose people almost every year. The show will go on, but the light has been dimmed.
i never even heard about this crash. how awful. i know it's late, but like another poster said, it really puts things in perspective. it's really just so sad. and it's pretty despicable that the truck driver didn't show to court, but honestly it doesn't surprise me. he's probably out of state and didn't want to make the trip back to TN. hopefully he no has a nationwide warrant for vehicular manslaughter.
It was already decided he would not face criminal charges, I thought? Maybe this was a civil hearing? I cannot find anything about it online.

This was a horrible accident and definitely cast a shadow over Bonnaroo and changed 2 family's lives forever. Just to clear things up though, the driver was issued a traffic citation, Failure to exercise due care, he was not criminally charged in the accident, no misdemeanor, no felony.
The local news said he was facing a "possibility" of 30 days in jail. He didn't show up today, so that seems to have the possibility of being extended. Probably only if he comes back to tennessee, I doubt they are going to look for him.

It is true. $50 fine and up to 30 days in jail. I can't imagine that he totally blew it off after everything that happened. (i've been keeping up on this story) He surely had representation there. But, who knows
