During Jack Johson I saw PHJB play on this tent. Jim James did a song too. Lots of fun and nobody there
Really? The tent was packed when I was there, though people were relaxed and okay with me getting up front. I love most nawlense funk I can get to, so that was a fantastic set.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
How about the bounce show on the tiny stage by the fountain after the soul superjam saturday? Fat naked dude raging in the fountain not giving any Quacks:
The Lumineers played Hey Ho at the comedy tent- at Ed Helms. It was pretty unexpected and cool. There was hardly anyone in there, I think everyone made their way to the center floor.

The Hams and I ended up watching Alt-J at the fountain which was when we noticed loads of mics being moved onto that tiny Fountain stage for the Spree. We ended up front row dead center and it was definitely a highlight of the festival. Every time Tim jumped up on his monitor he would hold his hand out to balance on The Hams. He also held the mic in my face for quite a bit of "2000 Places". Incredible show and the best end to a Thursday out of our 7 Roos!

Lead singer of vaccines popped up in Pod 2 Thursday to sing an acoustic version of their new song. He looked like he wanted to be nowhere near there and bee lines out after playing.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Most everyone is aware by now that Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes performed with The Jim James Superjam but she also came out and sang 2 songs during the Led Zep Tribute band "Bustle in your Hedgerow". One of the weekends highlights for me.

I also caught this, it was still really cool to see him perform up close in the middle of Pod 2 like that.
I happened to be at the Sonic Stage as "Kaleidoscope Space Tribe" was taking the stage (I had been at the JEFF the Brotherhood set that preceded it). Turns out it was actually Walk the Moon playing an all Talking Head's set, definitely one of the highlights of my weekend.
Since so few people have mentioned 21 pilots, if you saw it, one of the best live performances of the weekend. They were awesome.
I almost feel wrong saying a early afternoon Thursday show was in my top 3 if not my Number 1. When he said they were going to give us their all, he was telling the truth. Nothing beats the crowd holding them up on those platforms while they did that drum solo.

We caught Edward Sharpe right as they were parading up to the Sonic Stage..That was really cool. Seeing Jim James come out early with PHJB was cool..we were really close for that.

The PHJB set with Jim James singing "St James Infirmary" was right up there with Macca for me. Wish I'd shot more than about 30 seconds of it on my camera (but on the other hand, not really, since I a.) try to watch, not film, and b.) I hate it when other people hold their cameras right in front of my face during shows and try to avoid doing that to others)

I don't feel bad about saying it. That kid was spastic, energetic, and awesome. The bass drums on the crowd was bad ass.
Then what about when he climbed the rafters of the stage, and stood up on the top bar dancing. I think he realized how dangerous that was, because he sat down finally. The drummer missed several licks because he was even freaked by it.
21 pilots was the hit, underground show of the weekend. They should put them on at night, and in a much larger venue next year
We called the fuse barn the "cheesed!ck magnet" all weekend because every time we walked by there, we would see flat bill doofuses change directions on a dime as soon as they noticed it.
The DJ set at the fuse barn after Boys Noize way into the morning was awesome.
They were playing good music in there. What was that tent? Did someone just like purchase the rights to it to have it to hang out in the loft? It was sponsored last year but didnt seem to have one this year. I wish I had the cash to do that and give me and my crew a spot like that. I would just sleep in it.
