Yeah it got crazy for a while. My tent has been to 6 Bonnaroos but it really was put to the test last night. I was debating about moving to my car but the old tent held up thankfully. I was thinking about trashing it after this year but I had to bring it back home after that experience.
Yep! Scared the crap out of us and our neighbors. Everyone was asleep in their tent and then **CRACK*****BOOM** and you heard all this shifting and mumbling from other tents, wtf just happened?!
i woke up and thought the farm was getting bombed...scared the shizzle out of me...anyone else??
Bombed, is right! Scared the crap out of me. Rain made packing up a bit of a mess, but feel grateful that it waited until after the shows were over. Mother Nature put on her show after Petty.
I'm a pretty heavy sleeper and it scared the crap out of me. Just had a teensy bit of rain inside the tent, but we barricaded the crap out of it the night before. We fared a lot better than our neighbors.
I woke up to a goddang explosion of lightning around 4 or 5am last night. Does anybody know where that lightning struck?
I was thinking that strike had to have hit close to the farm, too. That flash of lightning woke me up from a dead sleep, before the thunder even boomed.
I was sleeping with ear plugs in but that shit rocked my whole body, way louder than front row at any of the shows lol. After that I was just awake for a while - which turned out to be an amazing experience laying in my hammock protected by my rain fly and watching the storm while I enjoyed some party favors all cosy in my sleeping bag.

I woke up at 5am terrified, and then stayed up for the next 2 hours (until I had to pack up camp in the pouring rain) trying to forget that I was in the middle of an open field during a massive thunderstorm, which interestingly enough is like trying to forget that you're blinking, once you think about it, you can't stop.
For the future, I will remember that although my tent has metal in it, it's technically sort of grounded. And that there's a massive clock tower like a mile away that'll attract a lot more attention than a tent would. Yaaay logic!

I woke up with the thunder, and all I could think about was the flag pole outside of my tent. I had collapsed it down to 4' before going to bed, but still didn't like the idea of a 4' metal pole just by my sleeping place. I headed out in the rain and took that thing down ... probably more dangerous than just laying there.

That was the loudest bang from thunder I have heard in my entire life. I literally thought it struck the top of our ez up. Even my friend, who is a very deep sleeper, bolted out of bed.
Me too. Woke up at 5:30am and was reeeally nervous and hoping my tent would be ok through it and glad I had a 12x12 canopy over it and the rainfly on. Luckily, I knew what it was cause I knew it was going to rain on Monday.
While we are on this subject, I'd like to give a big thank you to @bonnaroowx on Twitter for keeping an eye on the farm. Responded to direct tweets, and provided updates Monday morning and during the storm before The National. Great service.
I actually woke up from the rain, and saw the lighting strike before the thunder, so it didn't alarm me, but I was extremely disoriented when someones car alarm started going off, and I sat up and asked my cousin if it was my car. My car does not have an alarm.
