I tell everyone every year at Bonnaroo to check out acts at Cafe Where. They usually are up-and-coming acts that really are trying their best to make it and are humble and very approachable afterwards. It also can allow you a chance to see tha What Stage as well between sets.

Johnnyswim were REALLY good. Everything I had seen before was just a two-piece acoustic band. Adding the rest of the members really brought the live show up. And she is gorgeous.
Right!? I was really glad to have stumbled upon their show at the Miller stage. Did you get a copy of their EP?
I didn't get a copy, but the little I've heard on Spotify since shows that they are the real deal.

My biggest discovery was Passion Pit, believe it or not. Tons of people are saying they sounded bad but I didn't think so. I knew 2 or 3 of their songs from the radio but that was it. Also checked out Government Mule but they really weren't my bag.
"It's hard to say whether seeing Kellz backed by Jim James and his lion's mane hairdo or Billy Idol rocking out next to John Oates and his soul patch was weirder to watch. Let's just say both were beautifully bizarre sights to behold."
Cults. I didn`t give a damn that they were 15 minutes late once they started playing. Fun set that started a 16 hour Saturday off on the right foot.
Cults actually disappointed me because I love them so much otherwise and their set was so lack-luster. Aside from being late they also rushed off the stage and didn't have much personality. I'll stick to listening to them on Spotify. Glad you had a good time though.

I think I enjoyed it so much because of where I was in the crowd. Could hear and see well. It definitely wasn`t a perfect set, but fun none the less. They killed You Know What I Mean, had chills from it.
Had no idea who Deap Vally were....two chicks from LA who came out and blew the roof off the tent. That and they were unbelievably sexy.
If this set had been a full hour, it would have probably been in my top 5 for the weekend. They were out of this world good.
I bumbled over to Patrick Watson when Cults were late and it was probably my only great discovery this weekend. Great singer, great storyteller, his set absolutely made me a fan.

Two Gallants. I wanted to get a great spot for Frank Turner and then got to see the duo which were amazing. I also found out about a ton of bands there that I didn't end up seeing but started to listen to them after Bonnaroo. Some of these are Of Monsters and Men, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, and Passion Pit.

Two Gallants for me as well. They were a huge find for me. Their concert was criminally under appreciated (half empty tent, mostly spectator). Their entire set blew me away, but the cover of Nirvana (Aneurysm) put me in orbit.
Allen Stone...what a fun show, best of Thursday for me
That was a great show. I never heard of him before, but it ended up being one of my favorite shows.
We went to the show as a favor for his manager (you know, a friend of a friend kinda thing) and we danced and sang, and I especially loved bringing out the choir and doing Bob Marley "Is this Love"...would see him again for sure!

Django Django. I really didnt have anywhere I really need to be before Father John Misty, so I just went over to get a good spot for his set. Django was playing before, and it was definitely the surprise of the festival, even if I had no idea what they were saying.
Plus there was this family in front of me with a little probably 4 year old girl and probably a 3 year old boy, and the whole family was having a great time. The little girl was hooping, and the boy was dancing around with a glow stick. Seeing that gave me a ton of joy.

Asian Teacher Factory on the Solar Stage and out in shakedown at like 3 in the morning was awesome. Also Johnny Swim was one I had never heard of as well and thoroughly enjoyed.

Django Django, Milo Greene, and JEFF the Brotherhood were all bands that I previously listened to, but their live shows blew me away. Especially Django Django. I wasn't much into their album and I just wanted a good spot for Father John, but holy quaking christ they had me moving. I held my bladder for an hour because I couldn't bring myself to step away from their show.
The Revivalists. Holy crap. My cousin really likes them so we went over to cafe where early to get right up front (i was right in front of the speakers and my ears are still recovering from that...). I was dancing and bopping the whole time. I didn't expect them to rock as hard as they did. We saw them again Sunday at the Sonic Stage because we just hadn't had enough!
We caught just the last half of their last song, and were instantly intrigued. I made a note to check them out once I got home, and plan to do so this weekend. My buddy made it to the Sonic set ans said it reaffirmed our intrigue from the previous night.
I really enjoyed Django Django - had not heard anything from them until Thursday's set but I loved what I heard.
Dirty Projectors - I had seen a couple of their videos on Youtube and thought they were cool, but their live performance blew me away. Amber Coffman is an amazing vocalist.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes - again, I had seen a few Youtube videos and wasn't even sure if I'd go to this show. I was at the Bluegrass Situation at That Tent and while I love bluegrass, I just wasn't feeling it at the time so I wandered over to Which. I caught the whole set and danced my donkey off, then made a dash for the Sonic Stage to find out who the surprise set was, and it was them also! Such a fun live show, and such a nice full sound from a 15 or so person band.

There was a special performance at the solar stage during the superjam saturday night featuring black violin. The whole set was amazing. I'm not much of a hip hop fan, but this was spectacular!

Yes! That was really awesome, and the crowd kept getting bigger and bigger. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Ugh. Had the Revivalists on the agenda for the weekend based on a quick listen on the bonnaroo site. Don't recall why I missed their shows, but I did.
Django Django, Drew Holcomb (caught his band show and Sonic Stage set), LOVED Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers, and ... Wilco. Odd, I know. But, I had never given Wilco a listen. Hard to discover someone on the What Stage, but I did.
