What I heard is that he's working on an independent film, the soundtrack of which will be the next Death Grips album. Because of this, he hasn't been touring with them lately.

I was disappointed in this. As well as the little jerkstore in the red sox hat and aviator sunglasses that seemed more intent on hurting people in the mosh pit rather than having fun. And for some reason he was targeting the dude in the teletubbie costume over everyone else.
Was disappointed, as well, to walk up and not see him, but I thought it was still a great show. MC Ride is one of the best modern frontmen, imo. I also found out the other day that we have the same last name.

There was a teltubbie costume in the pit? I was in the pit and didnt notice that? WTF? I must have been out of it during that show. It was insane

It was a bit of a let down that Hill was not there, but the other two put on a crazy show on their own. Flatlander had an almost sadistic look on his face the whole show. It seemed like he would not care if we all were to die at that moment. Is that guy just super intense or is he part crazy?

They're all crazy in their own ways.
As far as disappointment goes, yeah, I think Zach is the most talented and impressive member of the group. But I was still blown away by the performance, and MC Ride took full advantage of the extra space. Looking forward to seeing them again after this whole 'film/soundtrack' business is through.

i was bummed that zach wasnt there. that being said that had to me the most intense, crazy, and most violent show ive ever been to we camped out and sat through clock work so we could be by the rail. i actually caught flatlander watching him in the artist section then he just went walking into the main festival grounds. i had a girl rip my shirt off of me and throw it and when they launched into guillotine i went to go run my fingers through my hair and my whole entire top of my head was covered in sweat and from that point on i was just entranced by the music. such a great show i lost my extra key,sun glasses, and shirt and still walked out with an ear to ear smile on my face.

This was my second time seeing them, the first time with Zach Hill present. This show without him was much more intense for some reason, despite my love for Zach's drumming. MC Ride was much more violent and energetic which is what Death Grips is about. But I and a few others got ahold of Zach on twitter a few weeks ago before he deleted his twitter, and he said he is currently working a job washing dishes to fund the film/soundtrack as well as a separate Death Grips album. So expect two new Death Grips works as well as the film which is unrelated to Death grips other than the soundtrack.

I'm guessing he was off mainlining smack somewhere. I'm also guessing his contributions to a film soundtrack is nothing more than BS for his drug problems.

I'm in the disappointed but still thought it was great camp. I discovered Death Grips from the lineup this year and it was one of the few "I'm not missing a minute of it" sets for me. Kind of a bummer there being no drummer but THESE GUYS
