Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Carnivalesque Entertainment: Bellydance & Vaudeville --- more info puhleeeeeeze! I made a point to attend the show after just signing up for Bellydance classes two weeks ago back home, and am so glad I did! Those girls were absolutely stunning. Beautiful artistry. Gorgeous dancing, tremendous isolations, and sexy as all get out too! The Vaudeville acts were great too (later, my hubby told me the "guy" was actually a girl when he heard her voice after the show!). All I heard them say is that they are based out of Chattanooga, but Google doesn't return any results. Bonnaroo.com lacks any description/info for them.
I captured some video on my iPhone, wish I did the entire show!
I'll fix the links later if they don't work. Apologies, but one, I'm new to DropBox as of today and two, my post-Roo exhaustion has more than caught up!

I think they were part of the Appalachian Flow Arts group but I'm not 100% sure on that, that's how the schedule read was that they were scheduled under the same name as the hoopers but I think that is wrong, I'll do some looking and see what I can find
The whole crew there is from all over the place. The hostess, Lola van Ella has a burlesque/vaudeville dance and production studio it appears in St. Louis, MO. link to that can be found here I really wish I could find more information on them because I really enjoyed the show they put on while I was waiting for the Revivalists.

Yes, thanks for the link! I forgot that the hostess said she was from St. Louis. I shall pop her a message!

I was there! I'd have known nothing about it had zeljocotha not been so persistent about checking it out! It was quite awesome. Like you said the dancing was spectacular, the vaudeville was quite entertaining and even the burlesque didn't freak me out too much.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a square but I've had some really super weird awkward moments around people who were WAY into burlesque that kinda tainted that scene for me. Years ago I invited a girl and her man (both HUGE fans of burlesque) to my house to check out Sid and Molly and hang for an evening. Dude's vibe was kinda off weird and his physical presentation kinda gross. He started making out with the chick when things were getting intense and then asked me "Would you like to join in?" I'm super fucking high so I said, "It's all good around here." because what the hell else could I say? Nope? Too many penises but thanks? "Well come in a little closer" He says I smile and reply "I really need to get some water" The dude obviously picked up on my reservations about having a 3 way with him and his wife so when I walk back upstairs he's just doing whip-it after whip-it not breathing in between. The chick was worried but not doing a good job of hiding it. Shit was going completely sideways. He looks at me and says "We want you to be a part of our marriage, we've discussed this and we want you to be with us." (They were in fact married) She chimes in "Yeah. We've talked about this before tonight and we want you to be a part of our marriage." I respond, "That's pretty heavy. I'm really honored that you guys feel that way."
That was the last words I ever said to them.
ANYWAY yeah this was a cool show & if they ever came 'round here again I'd see them and drag some friends to it as well.

So Lola responded via email:
Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out. Yes, Sammich the Tramp and I are from St. Louis and run the Beggar's Carnivale www.facebook.com/beggarscarnivale, and we produce the Show Me Burlesque Festival and run Van Ella Productions and Studio as well. I am so happy you liked our show. It was booked by Rachel of Carnivalesque Entertainment in Nashville and we all work together frequently. Sammy and I travel often and perform everywhere! We are hoping to do Bonnaroo again next year as well.
