Did anyone catch their set? They were my favorite of the WHOLE WEEKEND! Local Dudes rocked it out for their whole set! I'd seen them twice before but this was by far the best, the new record really made them settle down. I was in the pit and the sound was amazing. Bearded dude can really hold his notes down! Man, I can barely hold down my excitement just hearing "Humminbird" again right now. Love these dudes!
Yep, one of my favorite shows from the weekend. Loved it so much I bought tickets to see them again. And I really only listened to them before bonnaroo because of recommendations on here, so thanks everyone!
We actually had a quite large group of drunken Inforoosters in the pit for this one!! I reeeally enjoyed the set and had a great time. Oddly, I can't even remember details about the actual music. I'm SURE that is not the fault of the wine/beer/vodka/jello shots that I had been consuming for the previous 5 hours...
But really, they'll be at the second Boston Calling and I'm wicked excited to see them again.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
After Sun Hands, my cousin, whom has never listened to Local Natives before was like, "Wow. I wasn't expecting that after what all their other songs sounded like." That song rocks so hard. I guess it is a bit unexpected, but that's what makes it so great.
I wish I would've gotten closer, at the same time though, I sat decently far back, kinda by the sound booth I think, and laid out in the grass with a friend, who didnt know any of their music, and we just chilled and drifted in and out of sleep, getting up to dance when we so desired. I actually walked over to a girl hula hooping and asked her if she'd dance with me during airplanes because its , my favorite song of theirs, she and i had been talking and joking earlier about how much we loved local natives, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to ask her to dance. I loved this set and ill be sure to keep an eye out for them being in my area.
I sadly only caught their last song, and they destroyed it. I realize Sun Hands is one of their more "rocking" songs, but were they that energetic the whole set? They are coming to town soon and am thinking on going.

I highly recommend catching them for a club show. They really do put on a great show from start to finish, and something you may have missed was that they share vocal duties and trade off instruments. They're quite talented.

They were really good at controlling the mood - they held your attention but built up to rocking out a few times. Go see them when they're near you!!
