Lovin June 5-8 but that would be the earliest bonnaroo ever I think. This Father's Day garbage blows. Why in the heck does the country music fest get the early weekend? The fests should switch off at least every other year.
The other issue is Firefly. Firefly was a July fest, but they moved it to the week after Bonnaroo. I really feel like the two interfere with one another. Moving Bonnaroo back to the first week of June would help to rectify that.

They're pretty far apart geographically, and Firefly still pales in comparison to Bonnaroo when comparing them side by side as festivals. If anything Firefly will pick their 2014 dates around Bonnaroo, not the other way around.
The announcement of the dates of the festival is not part of the tracking in the Important Dates Thread, Flanzo (unless it's discussed later on, but not in the OP).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Of course it isn't. Why would it be a part of that? I never paid attention to that thread since I know how to use the Google search engine, but I just assumed that the dates of the festival would be included in the important dates thread.
"One of the first orders of business on Mayor Karl Dean's recently revamped Music City Music Council's agenda was to push to stagger CMA and Bonnaroo on separate consecutive weekends. Spyridon says the council has begun talks with the festivals to keep them separated. While a permanent solution is yet to be met, Spyridon says that next year, "by good fortune," the two festivals will transpire on different dates — with CMA happening June 6-9 and Bonnaroo slated for June 13-16. It's a change he'd like to make permanent.
While [Superfly Presents' Rick] Farman says that to his knowledge, Bonnaroo hasn't made any firm decisions on timing for next year's festival, he's open to the separation. "In general, there's a friendly relationship with the CMA people," he says. "If it's advantageous for everybody to do it on different weekends then [we'll consider it]."
"Obviously coming out of CMA, the following week is traditionally a little slower," he said. "Hopefully this builds that up a little bit and we spread the wealth over two weekends instead of cramming it into one."
the powers that be in the region definitely prefer these two events to be on separate weekends, and bonnaroo seems to be ok with that. Bonnaroo should have consideration for the early weekend though considering everyone is camping and what not,

I really hope they move it a way from Father's Day or I wont be coming back for several years. I was only able to justify this year because it was McCartney.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.
