Oh boy been a minute since I have been on lots of stuff has been going on personally and went on at Bonnaroo! Let me first give a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the medical tents! I had a really bad accident Thursday during camp set up I had constructed a PVC framed Solar Shower/Shitter for my camp. During the set up I had gotten the PVC frame up and was putting the skin panels on it for privacy a really big tarp I had cut out into panels. It had grommets on it I was using zip ties to attach it to the frame and was out of grommet holes and decided to make one using one of those buck folding hunting knives. At some point the knife slipped bounced off of the PVC and went into my index finger down to the bone. I was back near Pod 10 in BFE and after my friend Michelle wrapped it in her sarong we rushed to the pod. I had the liquid skin bandage stuff that would seal the skin back however in my judgment it was simply to much at that point to use sealing up a cut like that would be insane to seal up tight based off of my knowledge of medicine. I figured in bacteria had entered the wound as I had been playing in the dirt staking stuff down etc. that it would fester and or become septic and of course it was just Thursday. So off I went to the pod to get some real medical advice. They freaked the fuck out when I got there at that point I was covered in blood and straight away called for a taxi to shuttle me and my friend back to main medical behind Centeroo. Very courteous staff back there. There was also a life flight helicopter for Vanderbilt parked outside the tent. I wonder how much that runs for the weekend I am sure the insurance company makes them have it. Lots of freaked out people in the tent mainly no real injuries except for me. They right away said I needed stitches. And injected some lidocaine with in an hour of me being there and sowed me up. Oh yes and that sarong my friend put on me? It was basically glued to my hands both of them they had to pour peroxide all over it to even get it off. Now for my big gripe about the whole ordeal. The Dr. said I needed antibiotics and called in a prescription for the Wal-Mart in Manchester but acknowledged I could not get my car out and pointed my out some back rode where VIP comes in and said I would have to hoof it there and back. Also in the whole medical tent there was no hand wash station they were relying on hand sanitizer etc. and spray bottles of peroxide. So out the back entrance I went still covered in blood that was caked on and dried. Walked past umpteen million state troopers that way until I got to the BP across from Wal-Mart. I shoved my hands down in my pockets and walked into the bathroom. Thank god it was for truckers they had the GOJO soap with pumice. It took no less then 8 hand washes to remove all of the blood. I was almost sick from the smell. I went to Wal-Mart and only had to pay about $4 for my antibiotics. Walked back down the road and back in the entrance I came out of and was offered hella moonshine. I did not drink the pharmacist said the antibiotics I was on made me more susceptible to both sun and dehydration as a matter of fact I only drank one beer all weekend I get queasy drinking on antibiotics. On the trip back the security guard at the back gate said I had just missed Paul McCartney going in. I high tailed it back to camp got my shit together and headed to Centeroo I had a feeling something was going down managed to make it there in time for the infamous Thursday Night Sound check. I wondered around Centeroo for a bit showed my friend who had never been what was going down for the next few days and bounced back to camp after Father John Misty. Friday I was a wreck my finger was swelling and I had lost a lot of blood the day before I was kinda dizzy all weekend as a matter of fact. I missed Brunch and went straight for Centeroo for shade to get out of the sun and cut dehydration. the rest of the weekend was good even though my partying had been curtailed tremendous amounts afraid of what I might do either on purpose or accidentally with those stitches on my finger walking the path of the wook. So Bonnaroo was pretty tame for me but interesting from a different perspective I did manage to bump into a few Inforoosters during the weekend. So was not to bad just different but I was really afraid of an infection setting up in my finger under the circumstances. If anyone wants to see some of the pics I will post them they are the only real pics I got during the weekend as Michelle left my dome light on and killed my car battery in the mad rush to Medical. I am just saying you ever need them they are there for you and their goal is to get you patched up and back in the game as fast as possible under difficult circumstances. But they do do that. And let me tell you when you glue a woman's sarong to your hand with blood you know it was a crazy ass weekend. Speaking of which I need to find her a replacement one so if any of you girls know anything about sarong purchases please feel free to hit me up and offer advice! Sorry it took so long but my typing has been really down and everyone know this site is a bitch on your phone at least for me plus my mom almost died last weekend but everything is okay right now got the stiches out with a very minimal scar mom is home now if I could just do something about this constant overtime they have been giving me at work since I got back last Tuesday that would be great! However it did recharge my funds after Roo with a quickness and allowed me to get tix to see Atoms For Peace in Nashville for October so I guess all things happen for a reason.

Man, that's a crazy roo in a totally different way than you'd expect!! Well I'm glad to hear it was all handled as quickly as possible and you still had a good time, glad to hear your mother is alright now as well. May you both be healthy and happy in the future. I guess this means that you have to party twice as hard next roo to make up for this!!

Glad you're ok, but Man what the fuck? How long did it take you to walk to the Walmart and back? Seems pretty messed up that they'd make you have to walk such a distance in the heat with all that blood loss. Bummer that the medical staff couldn't do a quick medicine run as situations like yours are probably very rare throughout the weekend.

You're lucky they could sew ya up! My boyfriend sliced his finger 2 years ago. I pretty much carried him the whole walk to Medical and they said he needed stitches. Told him he'd have to go to the hospital for that. He said f it and braved it out all weekend. My make-shift nurse skills were pretty decent too.
Medical was great this year. I only had to go for a few bandaids for this killer blister i had (ran from the bottom of my foot up through my big & second toe, then to the top of my foot!) but they were helpful and nice (as always). Glad that you still were able to enjoy your 'Roo, and that your mama is safe!

Right?? How do they not have a golf cart for this purpose? Seems silly.
