I think he would be so epic on the farm! Saw him a little under 2 years ago and he and his band put on such a show. Played nearly 3 hours and his catalog to choose from is so extensive. Thought on this?

I think we had this argument last year. I love Bob Seger (homerism), but not sure where he'd go. He'd be a weird headliner, but maybe he'd work in the new Sunday slot. He could also go in the Stevie Wonder slot nicely, but I think his appeal skews too old to be a full-on Friday or Saturday headliner.

He could work well as a pre-headliner or late night slot. I wouldn't be too jazzed about him as a headliner - there are too many people from his era I would rather see ahead of him.

I honestly would prefer a Late Night slot as well. I am with Horn on this one...kinda tricky where to put him. Yes he prob. could be a headliner but at the same point...

I could totally get behind Seger being on the farm, but I don't know that he would be a headliner..if he did manage to headline, Sunday would be awesome. I would actually rather see him in a LN slot though. At any rate, wherever they put him I would show up.

I'd love to see him. How's his voice holding up? From anyone who's seen him lately. I remember a few years back when he started touring again for the first time in a while, the concern was that his voice couldn't hold up. Well that was 5 years ago I think. Seems he's doing well still. Still curious if he sounded like you thought he would.
I get the sense from this and other threads that, at least to some degree, it's not that classic rock is intrinsically good but that it's coming back around and therefore many people who would otherwise dismiss it as dreck are getting interested in it for fashion reasons.
Don't get me wrong: Seger/Petty/etc. are outstanding acts. But as someone who suffers from severe classic rock burnout, I find myself wincing at where this whole thing might lead. If we start slipping into Billy Thorpe, I'm hiding in the bomb shelter until it goes away.

do you think it would add to the experience if he played this song during the day?

I wish I could tell you how many drunken rednecks used to call my request line at 3 AM demanding this song back when I was a classic rock DJ in Knoxville.

When I saw him live, he sounded good, his backup band was awesome and he played so many amazing songs. I agree totally with Horn on this one. Glad to see we are on the same page

First time I remember hearing it was in the interstate with my uncle and step dad, doing over 100 in his iroc camaro, blasted that song all the way from my home town to hopkinsville ky.
