I live in Louisville and could totally make this. Can anyone give me an idea of the kinds of music these bands play? I'm not familiar with any of them other than Blonde Redhead and Youth Lagoon.

They wouldn't let me pull my tractor trailer into the park, so that wasn't me. You coming out to the shows? Or are ya going to see The Romantics and Georgia Satellites at Oktoberfest? Either way, come say high and have a beer.

Turns out I've gotta work Friday and Saturday evenings at the Kentucky Theatre. Rocky Horror is there this weekend (Saturday at midnight) in case anyone is interested in attending. I wasn't particularly interested in the lineup (Boomslang) this year but still figured I'd chekc out Body/Head since it was free & the Kim Gordon thing. I may go by Oktoberfest before work one of the days for some German food and also will try to find a chance to get around to your place and say 'Hi' though can't guarantee it will happen. What is the address if you don't mind posting it, or just PM me if you prefer.

Also, on a separate note(plug) for anyone coming in early or staying late this weekend: Ben Sollee is playing a show at the Kentucky Theatre on Thursday and The Zombies are going to be doing one there on Monday.

Hit the kickoff party tonight. Good times. The Outdoor Market shows are moved indoors to Buster's Billiards, including the Body/Head show, which is free to everyone for some stupid reason. Also, I inquired about the Doomslang death metal sets being held in an evangelical church sanctuary. It's BYOB, with service the following morning. This should go well.

MonkyBunney & I made an experimental record playable on a turntable, proving that it is, indeed, possible to make your own "vinyl" record. There is a process for cutting ("burning") a record for one copy, like how you make a CD-R. I am calling it a VD-R (for vinyl disc - recordable).
