got a bunch of xmas money yesterday, gonna try and make it to Basslights this weekend if I can find some tix that arent outrageously priced... If not a bunch of my friends are doing Major Lazer in the city on Monday so I'll prolly be heading to that. Pretty excited either way.
My buddy just showed me Particle today, not sure if you consider jamtronica EDM but I'm digging em'. Gonna catch the show in Vegas in March and I saw no tour dates in TN. I think they would bring a good show to the farm. I apologize ahead of time if this has been discussed already.

Will be doing LIC AC 28, Knife Party 29, Big G 30 with Conspirator/Michal Menart LN show, and Big G 31 pretty damn excited

Right on. I'll be at Big G the 31st as well. Really bummed it's gonna most likely be the last show I ever attend at Roseland. Should be crazy. I'm thinkin of hitting up Conspirator and Michal Menart after Major Lazer as well. I'll prolly be running into you, but doubt I'll know it at the time. Have fun sir!

First band to ever play until the sun came up at Bonnaroo IIRC. First Roo ever I think?
They were slated as the next big thing in jambands back then. They fizzled out pretty quickly, surprised to hear they are still playing.

How was LIC? A buddy of mine that I've known since middle school actually wound up getting a last second spot opening the show (or playing late? I dunno). He tried getting me to drive down, but couldn't guarantee free entry so I passed. He goes by the name of Gage. Biggest show he's ever played (he's done a few late nights in the basement of Webster Hall and Pacha before too), just wondering how his set was.

He just press play or what? Love to hear your analysis.
In a big production in the video above, almost all DJ's are press play for the most part. The week before when he played in the Carl Cox & friends tent at Ultra he did a more "DJed" set. Would be totally down for some Fatboy Slim. Always love a veteran.
Went to Major Lazer, Boyz Noize, and DJ Snake last night... Worst show Iv been to all year. Overcrowded, too young of an audience, it makes me almost want to skip Big G tonight out of fear of a repeat experience. Wishing I had Biscuits tix or was staying local instead.

This is what I have experienced at the last few EDM shows I attended. Wasn't as much fun as I used to have due to it being overcrowded and the actual crowd itself was all younger kids trying to get twerked on the whole time. Didn't seem like they had any interest in the actual music.

I went to an event called the Gift in Tampa on the 26th with Deadmau5, Adventure Club, GTA, and Nervo. We were honestly surrounded by a great crowd of people. We were in the middle of the field with lots of room so that may have been a factor. I feel like a lot of the idiots and underage rage tards go straight for the thick of the crowd.

Yeah just have to be careful who you see these days. You might find yourself in the absolute worst show experience you can possibly imagine. I'm 26 and the average age at major lazer was 19. All on Molly, dressed like strippers and bros. One kid passed out right in front of us. It was over crowded and we were packed in like sardines. Not a good scene.
Big Gigantic was more of the 25 and up crowd. Lots of room. Good vibe. Ran into a bunch of people that Iv see at other shows. Music was a thousand times better. Almost lost faith in EDM from the night before but it was restored.

HOLY DUCKING shit. Big Gigantic was hands down one of the best shows of the entire year, if they have a LN set on the stage and not a tent I will love my life, for anyone that wasn't there I feel sorry for you, and when they played their Cherub collab....lost my mind.
I was at the major lazer show in nyc too and honestly had a completely different experience. major lazer has always been my favorite in the edm scene so maybe I'm a little biased, but I feel like no matter what show you go to you can always single out a type of crowd in attendance for making the experience different. I didn't have that problem. went with 8 friends and we got up front and had a blast during boys noize and ml. maybe I've just started ignoring the types of people who "ruin" shows at this point. but I can tell you that where we were standing in the crowd it was a fuckin party and most people were completely into the music.

BN always puts on a cool show, his live skull tour threw me the fuck back to the early Justice days. ML is great when Diplo keeps a tight grip on shit. Saw them a week ago and diplo dj'ed most of the time, which provided great music. Whenever Jillionaire would get on the decks they would trainwreck and kill my vibe.
Not sure how you manage to stay up front, I can't stand feeling like I'm about to get raped. In the back is where it's at

we were actually planning on chilling like halfway back in the crowd but the sound at pier 94 is complete shit once your further than halfway back. would much rather deal with the insanity going on up front while bei able to hear the two djs I spent money to see than have plenty of room in the back. plus the warehouse was fucking freezing if you weren't up in the crowd
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Does this up Bassnectars chances of playing roo? And if hes there is he the top EDM artist on the lineup ?
He would be the easy one to put in for the slot Skrillex and Pretty Lights have held down the last two years, but I think it's a logical leap to assume he is going to be at Roo because he has a heavy festival schedule. He had a heavy festival schedule every year.
I really just can't even get excited for that. I am sure I will change my mind once I see the lineup and just accept it, but I was really hoping for something else. If The glitch mob, and Big Gigantic were there that would soften the blow.
