Getting in and getting out that is.... It took us just an hour and a half to get in and were parked right next to center roo (Camp Dr. Claw), and only about 3 min. to get out. (We left early)....
We left Murfreesboro around 9:00 on Thursday night and had tents pitched by 11:30. Got lucky and found a back way in. Only downside was our campsite was about as far out as you could get...Scooby Doo.
Left this morning (Monday) around 7:00 and drove right out.
Good time had by all but glad to be home and getting ready for a good hot shower~
We left Muncie, IN at about 8:30am Thursday and only had to wait in line for about 2 hours ("Do you have any extra tickets?"). We got into Camp Snagglepus, which was a pretty good location.
We were in line about 8 or 9 hours, got in the back of Camp Snagglepus by the fence. Nice spot the trees gave us some shade letting us sleep in till about 10 or so. We left last night in the middle of the rain storm, I was worried I would be able to get out but someone knock down the fence and we drove over that and onto the road. Took us about 30-40 minutes to get to the highway.
Took us about 1.5 hrs to get in on New Bushy Branch at 7:00 pm Wednesday. They opened at 6:00.
We were about to put in some waiting time this morning down in the "lower 40," (Camp Wonderdog), but a landowner was allowing people out over her field for $10. Did the same thing at roo one...best $$$ I spent all weekend.
Got in line at 7am Thursday. Waited about 3 and a half hours. Got put in Camp Penny near the three tall flags and a spongebob balloon. Left Today around mid morning and took about 3 hours to get out.

Maaaaan, you guys got lucky. We got in line at 5:15 Thursday morning and reached our campsite around 10:30. We left at 9:15 yesterday morning and got in line and didn't move an INCH for three hours... took another hour after we started moving/crawling. Still an awesome time, and our traffic partners were cool (drum party, anyone?)

We got to Manchester at 4:20 Thurs morning.... were pushed past exit 111 by the cops, rolled over 100,000 miles on the jeep, took exit 127 and ended up going around in a circle and getting back on 24 only going west this time, and went into this little area in front of the toll booths. Waited for ticket takers to show up (I think this was around 6 or so), they "searched" our cars, and off we went to camp Tweey. First thing I did when we got there was take a picture of the arch to Centeroo from our campsite. Tore down when we got up on Monday, slid our way towards the exit, and got on the road by 8:15. All in all we had amazing luck with the traffic this year. Can't complain a bit.

About 4.5 hours in line Thurs am, from 6:30 till about 11 am. Leaving took about 10 min to get on Bushy Branch and then about 10more min until traffic picked up to 30 mph. I wasn't unhappy with the traffic in or out.
Got into Manchester at 8:00 p.m Thursday, were sent to exit 127, took Rt. 41 to Rt. 55 and got to our camp site in Day Parking #2 at 6:00 a.m. Friday. 10 hours of pure bliss.
I just walked in :-P One of the advatages(probably the only advantage) of not taking a car. I had asked for directions from these ppl at the pancake house and I eventually ended up passing them walking into Roo. Funny stuff!
from the time they redirected me away from exit 111 (which would have put me in there at about 10:30 a.m., 8 HOURS!!! met a lot of cool people in line though.

It took us less than an hour from when we got into traffic on the interstate. That was so awesome! We were due for some good traffic luck. The first year it took us 14 hours to go 20 miles. Last year it took us 8 hours to get in.
We were out of there in less than 30 minutes too! We really lucked out.

last year i left 12 noon the day before gates opened, made it down there with few stops food and gas never more than 30 mins maybe an hour for dinner. i drove the whole way too 18 hours and 1003miles later we made it to the infamous walmart at 530am. there was a bout 3 miles of traffic but gates wernt open yet so they were all coming in to walmart parking lot. we rested there while waited for friends to come up from miami, and we left the lot and heading into the lineat about 645am, took us about literally 20 to 25 mins to get in. i amazed myself planning this trip and timing it. so my advice is plan early. by the way i started from westbury long island new york.
In 2003 I waitedabout 30 min. in traffic to get to Wal-Mart and then about 30 more minutes to get into the festival. That was leaving upstate NY the day before the gates open at 7 pm and driving straight through. Last year I left at about 2 pm the day before gates opened and got to Nashville at like 2 am. Woke up at like 9 the nest day and drove the 45 min. to manchester. Drove right into the wal mart exit and went to a gas station. Got back on the high way and waited like a half hour to get in. From what I've been reading I guess I'm lucky but it didn't take any careful planning. I just kinda wandered in when I got there and had no problems. Also drove right out at the end of the festival both years.
well, we got in line in 2003 at 10am and we were in at about 4:30pm. That wasn't so bad, we had a blast in line and we still had time to set up our tent and wander around. last year is a whole nother story!!!! granted we were traveling from vancouver, bc and it was a long trip regardless. we flew into dallas on Wed. (i'm from texas) and got picked up by some friends and started the 11 hour drive, we get into nashville 3:30-4am, but we still had friends we had to meet up with (one of which had our tickets, or else we probably would have just jumped in line ). Well, all our friends flights kept getting delayed and redirected!!! it was nuts, and we didn't end up in line until 10:30am on thursday and then proceeded to go the "back way". WELL, we were having a good time, hanging out, right as we pull up to the gate they close it because it's full and send us back onto the highway ???. that was around 4:30pm "ok" we think "the next entrance isn't too far". well we get back to the interstate entrance and they close that one as we pass by (it's now 6pm) . They then sent us around the way we usually come out, and we don't end up getting to our campsite until ohhhhhhhh.... 10pm....
moral of the story, don't take a back route and keep your tickets WITH YOU!!!!
looking foward to more good, good times this year at the ROO-HA!!!! angela jane
first year? 6 hours in, 7 hours out. the past two years the dude who drove us that first time didn't come along, so we've only waited 20 minutes to get in & we're out just as fast.
i'd say about 4hrs but we got lucky.....about 15mins after waiting in line on the interstate a bud of mine called us and told us to drive up two more exits......we did, waited a little less than 4hrs hours and were parked about 100yds from the entrance to the venue.....i dont expect the same luck this year.....
each year we arrived around 4 am (thursday) and got through the gates around 6 am. i guess it depends what gate you go through to determine where you end up but each year i was out in BUM FUCK. sometimes i don't know if getting there early is worth it. hmmm i need to scope out a new entrance.
either way. LUG all of your shit to the "camping only" section right in front of centeroo. best decision you will ever make. unless your alreayd close. OF oo..

I'm getting off really late this year here in TX. Let's say we were to get in line at 10:00pm on Thursday....... What time do you think We'd be setting up camp on Friday? Any estimations from past late arrivers is welcome... thanks..........
rough estimation, depending on which entrance you use (take the I-24 westbound, it was super quick in '04) I'd say you'd probably be in and set up by around 3 or 4 in the morning, but that's just a guess...
I showed up for '04 around 10:00 am on thursday on I-24 and it only took about an hour and a half or so, but I'd venture to guess that it gets hairier as you get later in the day
