The recent Oysterhead activity on Copeland's YouTube page got me all excited but I've settled down. I'll take anything with Claypool at this point. I've been imagining the Chocolate Factory set all day and appreciating what a genius idea it is.

Are you referring to the new Bonnaroo 2006 footage he released or have I missed something new? In a recent interview (maybe a month or so ago) Claypool said that a new Oysterhead is not off the table and that he'd love to do it again! Him and Anastasio have both made several appearances at Sacred Grove. I really hope it happens Grand Pecking Order is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Yeah I was just referring to the 06 footage. Sorry if I made it seem like it was any more than that. Copeland has had that footage for a while so I'm just hoping there was a reason that he would decide to post it now.

I really enjoyed Primus a few years ago. They are not someone I listen to regularly...but their show was pretty awesome. I remember people in the camping area the day after their show saying Primus had people hang gliding or something above the crowd throwing out stuff to make crazy visuals. I have no idea if this was true, but I heard a lot of people talking about it the next day. Regardless it was a kick ass show.

It's true but they weren't part of the Primus show.
Whatever happened with those? I remember lots of speculation that maybe it tied into some movie premier marketing campaign, but I never actually saw anything more than the gum company.

Ohhhhhhh man, absolutely amazing, such a spectacle and that encore was hard to beat. I NEED to see this show in a LN Which spot with all my friends. Only "bad" things about the show were that I was solo and nobody in the crowd was dancing (except a few people during the encore.) But that is just because most of the songs off the Wonka album aren't nearly as easy to get down to as classic Primus songs (but that didn't stop me.)

Happy to hear this, I'll catch the show friday.
Dude you got a great setlist. I will shit if they play Harold of the Rocks friday. So the wonka set was pretty awesome?

Saw this show in Atlanta at the Tabernacle on Saturday... best show I've been to all year (admittedly I haven't been able to make it to too many concerts this year). Was awesome how they came out and Les got the hits everyone wanted to hear out of the way before the amazingness that was the Chocolate Factory.

Oh yes, I was like a little fan girl every time they started one of the old songs and this guy next to me kept yelling at everybody, trying to get them to dance, because everyone was just standing around and then he walks up to me and grabs my shoulder and says, "Sir, you truly are a bastard, all these people standing around... They're just acting like it." And then we jumped around and danced the entire set.
Sorry it was just so good. But yeah, the willy wonka set was awesome. Like I said, it's very different from typical Primus, meaning that a lot of the songs just aren't as bouncy and dance-able as traditional Primus, but there are a few songs that you can seriously throw down to. It's quite a spectacle with Oompa Loompas and the movie playing behind them (which kinda made me think of RHPS, haha) and clay dressed as wonka and Tim dressed as one of the tv oompas. Also I just want to acknowledge how amazing the xylophone player (or vibraphone, I couldn't tell) was, he had a couple solos and it was nothing short of BA. I just really can't say enough about this show, every stop has an awesome setlist and the new album set is breathtaking as well. If you miss this show, you quacked up. Also, I fully expect this show to be at Roo in 2015. I'm almost willing to bet on it.

I saw the Cinci show on Friday night, and as some of the other posters have said, it was damn impressive! I could see it working on the farm like a late-night Flaming Lips show. The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stuff is really psychedelic and the stage setup creates a great visual backdrop. Plus, you also get to hear a full set and encore of Primus material. I hope this is in play for a Which Stage late night. I think it would work.
this should lead to a maynard/claypool/morello superjam
I kinda expect the Chocolate factory show to be there. But, if we are dreaming of roo in a perfect world, I support your SJ idea (though I'm not crazy about Maynard)
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.

I was at the Cincinnati show too! Wanted one of the posters but got there right as they took the last one off the wall. Third Primus show and finally got My Name Is Mud. whew. But the Chocolate Factory set was a great switch up and I'm glad Les still loves touring and making music.
I have a signed poster from their last tour. It might by my favorite show poster I have too! Really excited for Friday night
If you want to get a poster from this tour (because they're pretty awesome) be sure to get there earlyyy, they were running low/out of a lot of merch really fast in Orlando.

How much are they charging for just the poster? $40? I'm on a tighter budget than I was at the time of my last show. No dropping big dollas for a signed one
