Audra and I were talking about who could close the festival a couple days ago and were having a tough time figuring out who would fit. So we came up with an idea:
Let's take the 2013 lineup as a "for instance".
Instead of having Tom Petty close the night, have him play the sundown set. Still be a headliner, but not the last act to play. Then the which stage closer would play (The National - move DB+SV)
Now, since Bonnaroo is really taking the superjam and embracing it as another big part of what sets it apart from other fests, have one to close the fest that includes artists from the entire 4 days. They'll have the whole weekend to practice, and come up with an amazing setlist. They can have surprise guests, etc and it could be a great, fun party.
Would this happen? No, all the bands that would be doing a superjam would have probably left the farm by then. Would I love it? Yes. I've never caught a superjam because I'm always too busy seeing other bands... but boy am I upset I missed them last year.

I feel like Superjam is a pretty big draw for the festival and a good amount of people would be annoyed that it's on Sunday if they had planned on heading home early for whatever reason. One of the positives of the "jam" headliner has been that part of the audience can stay and enjoy but others that aren't big fans and need to leave early won't feel too bad about missing it.
I also feel like they'd probably need more time before the festival to rehearse/practice a bit unless it was a bunch of musicians familiar with playing together.
I think I'd prefer a regular act on Sunday. I've also said a bunch of times they should do a "Artist and friends" type show. Not exactly the same as a Superjam (though it's close). If they had one act like Petty or Neil Young and then a few guests who come out for a song or two that'd be pretty cool.

Superjam is always >Whatever else is happening for me.
