We'll only be getting one of the following - Daft Punk, Soulwax/2manydjs, BOC, Massive Attack, and Basement Jaxx. It'll be the latter and you all should be fucking thrilled.
At least the new poster got the Tame Impala pick right. This is their year for a main stage jump.
I also expect Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean in high spots. Possibly pre-pre or pre-headliner roles? Though they could have Frank close the Outdoor this time.
Death Cab will be the first name on a second line one of the days.

Yeah, but you know what I mean. I'm still new to the depth chart of mainstream festivals. Old school guys like me tend to classify strictly by radio...pop, classic, alt, dance, rap. This has clearly changed in the festival subculture.
That friday would probably get me out to California. Kraftwerk has been playing full albums with a 3d show. It sounds amazing. And if they were lucky enough to get put into the Sahara tent it would be worth the trip. I've never been to coachella, would Kraftwerk be a big enough draw for their crowd? Or would they be big enough to warrant using the Sarah tent for them?

I think it's hard to nail down how many genres/sub-genres there are. It seems like every day someone is coming up with something new and calling it "totally different" from what's already around. Don't worry about genres, just do some music discovery when the lineup comes out and see what you like! Coachella does tend to book a lot of radio-friendly stuff so it wont be anything too obscure.
