Even though I'm actually jealous of you all because in my hurry to grab a ticket I accidentally paid in full instead of selecting payment plan No matter...it's time to get excited!
The past two years I've flown from RDU to LAX round trip for $300. Wait until the end of February to book your flight.
As far as rental cars, I was able to land one at $110 for 5 days via Budget. Hunt around for coupon codes after you book the flight.
Also, camping at Shadow Hills was the best decision I made for budgeting my expenses. You get bathrooms, showers, a pool, and complimentary snacks and coffee for 4 nights at $150. I set up my tent next to a shady pond with some cool ass people from Seattle. Coachella has a shuttle stop here, which is a nice luxury as well.

I always thought waiting longer to book the flight makes it more expensive? Guess I was mistaken all these years o.o

That Shadow Hills camping sounds legit.
"Fifty-four days before takeoff is, on average, when domestic airline tickets are at their absolute lowest price. And if you don’t hit 54 days on the head, you should usually book between 104 to 29 days before your trip -- within the “prime booking window” -- for the lowest possible prices. In this window, ticket prices typically hover within $10 of the lowest price they’ll ever reach."

Well this is mind-blowing. The lineup comes out around then and the rumors will clue everyone into how it will most likely turn out. I really want to go but am very tight on funds, I've got my payment plan ticket but if Daft Punk isn't there I'll probably end up selling my ticket. It's still my #1 fest to attend but with me graduating in fall and the likelihood I won't find a job for a while, it'd probably be a bit irresponsible to blow so much money on a festival. We shall wait and see.

Is it too early to call dibs on your ticket?
Not at all, it wouldn't be until next year until I decide. It includes a shuttle pass as well.

Sweet! I normally wait until the line up is announced to buy my ticket. It's nice to have a back up plan since it's becoming more difficult to nab one each year.
FYI supposedly U2 has already blocked off 8 nights at the Forum for May 2015. If true, you can go ahead and cross them off the list.
That's actually kind of good news. I love, love, love U2 but I'm just not sure I would want to see them at Coachella. Also, bets on Magic! playing...because that 'Rude' song is everywhere and that's kind of their thing.

I'll take that bet. That song is awful, no way they book them.

It is pretty awful but so damn catchy. Betcha a margarita!

Okay, but if you win I'll only pay for it during their set as far away as possible from wherever they're playing.
Fair enough.
So for the record Inforoo, if Magic! plays Coachella Delicious Meatball Sub owes me a margarita to be purchased and enjoyed as far away from the set as possible.

You're right about that song, so fucking awful. Have you seen the music video? It'll make you barf.
And didn't they book The 1975 this year? Equally as awful.
