Question: Why does it seem that their are a fair share of people clearly not wanting AC/DC anywhere near Bonnaroo? No they aren't my favorite and no I probably wouldn't drive a long distance to watch their show. But the fact that they've firmly cemented their place in rock history is enough to make someone, at least I think, a little excited at the prospect of crossing them off their lifetime "to do" list. Is it just that a lot of people don't like their music or is it that most think Bonnaroo can get better headliners than these guys? Whatever it is, I don't really understand. Can someone clarify?

They just saturate the radio so I think people don't take their music seriously or are plain sick of them (probably the first). Their live show is a little by the numbers these days, but so is any other act of that age (The Who, Macca, Rolling Stones).
Back and Black holds it's own as one of the best rock albums ever though.

theyre old,
Okay yeah. But Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Tom Petty are all pretty up there in age. It didn't stop anyone from getting excited about those acts.

The kids just don't know how to play air guitar these days. But, FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK, WE SALUTE YOU!

those you mentioned are generally a lower tempo show (with a few exceptions). I'm not saying ACDC won't rock, I'm just saying they're old, and unable to rock like they use to. FTR, I'm all for ACDC

Heavier rock is less palatable to a wide variety of people than a lot of dad rock.
I'm mostly just sad cause I didn't realize he had terrible taste in music.
Terrible!
"Just glancing over it, I got Tame Impala, Interpol, Flying Lotus, Caribou, Todd Terje, Squarepusher, Rev Horton Heat, Sylvan Esso, Cloud Nothings, Haerts, Eagulls, Allah-Las, Jon Hopkins, Jack White, Belle And Sebastian, Father John Misty, War On Drugs, Run The Jewels, Tycho, Drive Like Jehu, Swans, Toro y Moi, Jungle, Gaslamp Killer Experience, Antemasque, St Paul, Tourist, Benjamin Booker, Florence And The Machine, Ryan Adams, Odesza, Gesaffelstein, Circa Survive, Jamie xx, Mac DeMarco, Vance Joy, Built To Spill, Panda Bear, OFF!, Charles Bradley, Philip Selway, Touche Amore, John Talabot, Sturgill Simpson, Annie Mac, The Orwells. I've either seen many of those already, am going to see them soon or expect to see them at other festivals this year."

Well I'm not going to be fighting for the pit or anything if they play, but yeah me too! I see your point (I have not seen anything by them live like at all but I could assume if I thought about it that they would naturally decay with age) It's like how my friends feel about Prince. I don't run deep for them but I'd welcome them to the lineup with open arms. Open arms...open arms... "Oooooopen Aaaarms!" Journey anybody? I imagine they don't really rock that hard live anymore either though? Whateves. Honestly it'd take two shows of Nickleback and a set by Limp Bizkit to stop me from buying a ticket.
For my tastes, the top two lines leave much to be desired. But that is a hell of an undercard though, I'd be thrilled if Bonnaroo got quite a few of them.
Some of the billing orders really surprise me though.
*Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes, Ride, Flying Lotus, Ghost & Rae, Lykke Li, Caribou, Todd Terje, Action Bronson, Sylvan Esso, Cloud Nothings, Ab-Soul, Eagulls, Allah-Las *Jack White, the Weeknd, Ratatat, Bad Religion, FKA Twigs, The War on Drugs, Run the Jewels, Tycho, Milky Chance, Jungle, Gaslamp Killer Experience, Parquet Courts, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Benjamin Booker *St. Vincent, Circa Survive, Jenny Lewis, Built to Spill, Panda Bear, St. Lucia, Angel Olsen, Sturgill Simpson
If Sunday is weak then my music tastes must really suck.
St. Vincent, Odesza, Gesaffelstein, RAC, Desaparecidos, Jamie XX, Duke Dumont, Mac DeMarco, Lil' B, J.E.S. + S., Panda Bear, Kaytranada, Guy Gerber, Claude VonStroke, Angel Olsen, John Talabot, Dubfire, MO, The Orwells.
I'm still surprised Spritualized isn't on the lineup. I keep checking, and they're still not there.
Well they were just there in '13 and haven't put out anything new recently. I wish you could see them there in '15.
Yeah, I was lucky enough to catch that set (first time for me, it was wonderful), but I was hoping they'd swing by considering they're on tour again around that time.
Stellar lineup, as usual. Who cares about the headliners, it's not like there aren't five other acts at the same time anyway. Would love to be at that Drake set personally. Saturday is so stacked that I would rather kill myself than deal with those conflicts.
I might be at Drake all by myself, but I will totally be there.
I want to see 1 headliner to feel like I got the proper Coachella experience. My choice would be AC/DC first and then Drake but looking at lines 2-3 on Friday and Sunday, there's a much higher chance of a conflict on Friday.
I'm not sure the best way to describe it but I imagine the Drake set is the favorite for best/most guest appearances. He could put together a huge cast. When discussing Bonnaroo, I usually doubt guest showing up because it's a farm in Tennessee but Coachella is the 1 fest where I can dream about crazy guest appearances happening.
He could pull a Kanye and have no guests (aside from a splash of bon iver and pusha t), so I'm not getting too excited for it. But still totally hoping it happens.

Granted, it was at his own OVO fest, but in 2013 he had Kanye West, ASAP Rocky, Miguel, The Weeknd, Lil Wayne, TLC, Diddy, and J Cole, and in 2014 he had Trey Songz, Lauryn Hill, J. Cole, Usher, and G-Unit. I feel like he'd definitely pull a bunch of people out for Coach.
