1. What is your favorite genre of music. I'm a lover of pretty much everything. Can't get into metal or rap (though some hip-hop is good). I'm terrible at finding new music, so I'd love to discover something obscure. Top two styles I enjoy are anything upbeat/danceable and amazing lyricists.

Yeah, this too. Some people know each other well enough where they wouldn't really need a starting point, but others might need some help. The idea is to help your Santa along as much as you can if they were stuck for ideas.

I don't really know that I have a favourite, exactly, but I listen to a rough mix of classic rock & alternative the most.

Depending on my mood on any given day, I'm most likely to tell you it's one of The Beatles, The Clash, Radiohead, MMJ or Wilco.

Typically L, sometimes XL if the sizes run a bit small.

I... follow sports? I suppose 12 years of living in New England has drilled it into me that I should support the Sox, but ehh, frankly I'm not too fussed either way.

so I suppose that excludes not just concerts & albums, but making music, too? Hmm. I also enjoy travel, film and reading (especially about history) - but like most here, music is the big 'un.

TV: QI, Wilfred, An Idiot Abroad, The Ricky Gervais Show, Louie, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Movies: A Clockwork Orange, Almost Famous, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Children of Men, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Ghostbusters, Fellowship of the Ring, The Big Lebowski, etc. Ghostbusters is the only one of those I'm missing on DVD.

Restaurant: Nilgiri's, Bill's, Brown Sugar - and if I'm ever feeling ritzy as shiz, Icebergs.

not necessarily my absolute favourites, but the American munchies I miss most are garden salsa Sun Chips and Pepperidge Farm white choc macadamia cookies.

I think that covers most of it - but as a friendly reminder, customs won't be too happy if you send meat, dairy, plants, fruits, vegetables, anything with tree bark / soil, or any sort of animal product. Our ecosystem is very fragile, so they take this quite seriously - and for good reason. Some squidbrains decided to introduce rabbits here about 150 years ago, and they've had a seriously devastating effect on the environment (ya don't just build a 1200-mile rabbit-proof fence for nothin').
Also, December gets hot here. Ditch the red and white coat at the Tropic of Cancer.

This is a great idea – who doesn’t like getting gifts; plus, learning things about y’all is a nice bonus and helps to put a persona to the avatar / username. I’m in.
Favorite genre of music: I’m all over the place, but right now I have been enjoying learning about stuff I’ve missed over the years. Educate me on the lesser known founders (or up-and-comers) of hip-hop, electro, psych-rock, metal, or ‘international acts’.
Favorite musical artist: Let’s not go there; if you must, check out my post in the ‘Another lurker introduces themselves’ thread for a large group.
T-shirt size: With shrinky cotton shirts, I go for a XL knowing that it will get to an L in a couple of wash cycles.
Favorite sports team: Although they don’t deserve it right now, my heart will always go to the Minnesota Vikings. The Lynx would be 2nd. I don’t live and die by sports, though.
Favorite non-music related hobby: The ladies. Seriously, I probably spend most of my non-music free time reading or doing something outdoorsy (camping / hiking / etc.).
Favorite color: Blue, but as I am colorblind, you could send me something purple and I probably wouldn’t know the difference.
Favorite animal: Land based: Raccoon – only animal hoighty-toighty enough to wash off their food, considering they just got it out of a garbage can. Water based: Orca – because, seriously – they are unf*ckwithable.
Favorite TV show / Movie: Have not plugged in TV since May 2013; all I really miss is PBS NewsHour. As far as movies, I enjoy the work of Tarentino, Cohen brothers, and Paul Thomas Anderson, among others.
Favorite restaurant: I would say Fogo de Chao Brazilian steakhouse, but with the $20 limit, I could maybe get two beers if I stiffed on the tip (which I wouldn't). I usually hit mom-and pops rather than chain restaurants. Wendy’s gets the win for fast food, with Chipotle or Noodles & Company coming in tied for second.
Favorite munchies reliever: Not a big snacker, but I would probably go for salty over sweet. Olives, pickles (including peppers and other non-cucumbery things), cheese.
Other clues for Santa: I like old stuff that has little value other than the fact that you can’t get it anymore. I found a really cool looking thermostat cover from the early part of the 20th century in an old apartment building tear-down – looks like a miniature art-deco skyscraper. I turned it into a wall hanging. Its old, most people find it ugly, but I like it because I know that without vast amounts of money and time it would be difficult to acquire something like that. Also, I carry a meteorite in my pocket at all times (Space nerd!)
Favorite Xmas candy / treat: That stuff you make with Chex Mix cereal; you put it in a paper grocery bag, pour in melted chocolate and shake, then repeat last step with powdered sugar. Yeah, that stuff is pretty dope.

I don't like country but I do like bluegrass and generally Alt country. This year I've seen everyone from Lyle Lovett to Nine Inch Nails. 2. What is your favorite musical artist. To send something from the States to Australia, it would cost ~$24 in one of those small USPS flat rate packages. To Boneroo in Canada, ~$20.
Maybe it'd be easier to get volunteers, those who are willing and able to do int'l shipments go into a pool which Dave picks from at random.
