I thought about sending out a hand crafted item first as a gag from my incompetence. Like a gluey, glittered macaroni sculpture with bent nails protruding. So my benefactor would open it and shit themselves with confusion. And I'd use Jess' return address.

First, sorry * insert recipient of my gifts name here*, i kinda had a certain gift in mind before I knew who I was getting, so tho I did read your answers, and have it some thought, I'm going threw with my original idea. Hope you like it.
Second, if say I was to purchase said item(s) off amazon, and the shipper did not have a gift option, do you guys feel it's in poor taste to do it anyway?

I didn't do any Black Friday shopping, but I did hobble out for Small Business Saturday. Picked up a couple things for my giftee. I'm really hoping they like what I'll be sending, because what I have so far has very little to do with their post.

My gift shopping is done! Unlike ya'll scrubs my gifts are directly inspired by my posters questions and posting history!! (kidding, you guys aren't scrubs). I'll be putting mine in the mail early this week, all I have left is to do a little decorating on the packaging.

For real though Amazon Prime is great and definitely worth it if you do much online shopping. Plus if you're a student you get 6 months free and then a discounted price. Also you get a discount if you're a new mom.
Man, ya'll are ON IT! I've got a few things for my recipient but not everything yet. Sorry, recipient, you won't get your package til next week!
I'm in the same boat as JHo - I've already got a few things for you, but still have some work to do. I promise I'll get it out within the week.
And double apologies, anonymous recipient - shipping will also take a little while, however you should have everything by Christmas. I'll make sure to let Jolly Saint Nick Dave know when it's due to arrive so he can pass along the details.
So how does this work with online purchases? Do I ship it to myself and then to said person or just send it straight to them.
I'm thinking send it to me first...make sure it's not lame in person...and then send it out but I'd love some opinions.
Pretty much your call. Also depends on if you think you can get it shipped to yourself and then shipped to your person on time, which shouldn't be a problem this early in the month, but I wouldn't wait much longer. Shipping it to yourself first also gives you a chance to decorate/personalize/customize if that is your thing.
