I've always thought that Tupelo Honey was overrated, but I know I am the minority. I am also not a huge breakfast fan.
We'd be doing a disservice if we didn't tell you to grab a coffee at Double D's. (It really is good coffee and a cool little place to visit)
I am not sure who has wireless, but if it were me, I'd get my third floor, mountainview room at DTI, log onto their frlf wirless and set up shop with a view.

Not quite in Asheville but I will be at Pisgah Brewing Co for Tipper on Sat. Great outdoor venue, it is in a huge field so it kind of has like a mini festival feel with the beer tents and food trucks and what not. Also a KOA like two seconds down the road if you don't feel like driving back.
I'm super stoked for this weekend! If you aren't doing anything tomorrow night, we have a really cool event here in Knoxville called Headroom and then a bunch of us are heading to Asheville for Tipper! If you want to meet up, lmk and we can exchange phone numbers. I love to meet up with Inforooers.

Yeah should be a great show. I am house sitting this weekend so won't be able to make a trip to Knoxville... but wouldn't mind meeting up at Pisgah or something on Sat. Probably be going to this one solo as my dance partner is in London right now.
^^ This. Big fan of those bars. I'd also add The Mothlight to cool venues and Harvest is becoming one of my favorite record stores on the east coast.

New Mountain AVL is another newer venue. They actually have 3 venues at one location: Sol Bar, Theater, & Amphitheater. I was supposed to see King Sunny Adé at the Amphitheater yesterday but he had visa issues and had to cancel.

A few things- Someone mentioned eating at Biscuit Head for breakfast. I would suggest this anytime of the day! Also, 67 Biltmore is a new fantastic place to eat lunch or an early dinner (which also happens to be owned and operated by cool people I know). Adding on- Sunny Point Cafe is a great little eatery, and Urban Orchard is a great little cider brewery in West Asheville. Green Man Brewing has THE BEST ESB on earth. Lastly, if you are coming in tomorrow night, Michael Franti and Spearhead are playing the New Mountain Asheville venue. Wish I was going to be in town this weekend to say hi to you cool folks, but I've got to make a day trip to Tennessee on Saturday to pick up my new kayak. Hope you have a great visit though!

Do you think there's any chance of the fest returning, or were they operating at such a loss that it's pretty much gone for good?
I have no inside information, but personally I think it's gone for good (at least in Asheville), especially after watching Moogfest's attempt lose so much money.

My boss gets all of his done in Asheville, but I don't remember where. And he's in London on his way to Iceland right now, so I doubt he'll get back to me. But I will text him now.
