Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The holiday spirit is alive and well in this thread.
Stressed out because of family stuff and other issues I'm dealing with and signing on to see this crap will definitely put a damper on the holiday spirit. I'm tired of bending over backwards and spending hours of my free time working on stuff for the boards that continually get sarcastic jokes and snide remarks in return.
The issues with the word filter have been addressed and have been in the process of some updates EXTREMELY SOON and yet I feel like i'm being slapped in the face by the same familiar faces. It starts feeling like it's not worth the effort I put in. So yea...I guess you could say that I'm not feeling the holiday spirit right now.
Trust me, we appreciate the time and effort you put into the board (That goes for all mods). Hopefully your holiday gets better and I'm looking forward to seeing the word filter update/change I think he was just trying to poke fun at the word filter, not you personally.

This will be my third Bonnaroo and third year steadily keeping tabs on the Inforoo pages. I think that Inforoo is a great site for fans and a great way to stay organized.
I do however have suggestions.
I can say that this is only my 3rd or 4th post in my entire time of using Inforoo and it's because of how unwelcoming the members and some moderators are. I have had plenty of things I wanted to ask/say over the years but for the sake of keeping the threads short and not littered with useless insults at the first mention of a band that isn't what someone else likes, I have refrained.
I understand that the Internet is not the place to expect manners and ethics however, after visiting Bonnaroo the most welcoming place on earth I would expect the fansite to at least try and match that same vibe.
I'm not too sure of the administrative access moderators have on this page but below are just some suggestions for probable situations.
Suggestions:
Personal Insult - One week ban from posts and disabled viewing of any thread the insulted has ever posted on Unrelated Discussion - 12 Hour ban from the specific thread that was cluttered
I understand that some rules have already been established but there needs to be enforcement. If I had to take a generous estimate of how much clutter is in this fansite I would assume that 50% of the information posted is useless. I do find the site informative if you have the time to sort through all the mess. I am a huge fan of Bonnaroo so you know I'll be there to look through it all I just wish that for some of the new people that the site had less crap and more of the welcoming feeling we all know so well from the farm.

Surely this isn't your first messaageboard. This isn't a Bonnaroo FAQ page. Its a community of people that either enjoy or at one point enjoyed the festival. Its a plethora of knowledge for veterans and first timers. Main focus is Roo, but we do have other things to talk about that don't pertain to the festival. Just like life, things get off track and there are bullies.
I welcome you to the board, I sincerely hope you stay and actually get to know some of the people on here or at least stay lurking and gain some knowledge about Roo, but if you don't have the time to scroll through 2-10 pages of off topic discussion, then maybe it would be quicker for you to go to the interwebz and obtain the knowledge you seek yourself?

I'm sorry that you feel some of the moderators are unwelcoming here. We try to be helpful and welcoming but if we've caused some problems then that's up to us to fix.
To be perfectly honest, I feel the majority of folks on here are very welcoming and extremely kind and open to new members. We've had a lot of new members in the past year or two who have become well known regulars and a lot of that is due to the way they've been received on here.
You're right that there are times where things get heated and some insults will be thrown around. Ask one of the many people who regularly post and attend Inforoo Brunch or set up meet-ups at other festivals and you'll get so much positivity and good vibes it'll make you sick lol. But that doesn't change that sometimes things on here are uncalled for or discussions/debates can turn into shouting matches that end with some hurtful things being thrown around. We are working to try and help in these situations and when we've noticed them there's been an increased effort to try and moderate the discussions away from insults and fighting. I can personally say I've been sending PM's to many members the past few weeks either requesting them to calm down, telling them to cut the shit, or just talking to them if they are having a rough time on here.
We do strive to satisfy most folks and we definitely do not want brand new members to be attacked before they can even get a feel for the place. This is one of the reasons we made slight updates and a new thread for the guidelines. We are working to make this place even better but if you poke your head around in different areas (and try posting more too ) then you'll start to build relationships with all sorts of awesome folks. The headliner thread tends to get a bit crazy but there are thousands of other threads that don't get as heated or aggressive and are just a fun place to talk about stuff. Discussing movies/tv you've watched recently or discovering new music in the Music Lounge are always pretty drama-free.
In the end....people are passionate about their opinions/ideas and drama tends to happen anywhere that humans are. It's nice to think of Bonnaroo as all good vibez and happy times but even at the festival there have been plenty of drama and problems and sketchy folk who aren't sharing the same sentiment. On this board we have some of the most passionate music fans as well as some of the most awesome people i've had the honor to meet. So I apologize if you've felt that we have been unwelcoming but I sometimes feel that people look past all the positive and amazing things that go on around here. It's not all insults and drama as some tend to believe.
We'll continue working on curbing any kind of unwelcome posting or unfair/uncalled for responses and insults. Thanks for your input and please stick around and add more posts to your count.

You honestly think people should stay "on topic" for 360 days a year?
Damn you Northeast. Another southern deliciousness that I have never even herd of.
"Recipes vary, but are generally similar in that they call for the preparation of a single crust and a filling composed of eggs, butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. What sets chess pie apart from many other custard pies is the addition of cornmeal. Some recipes also call for corn syrup, which tends to create a more gelatinous consistency. The pie is then baked. The finished product is often consumed with coffee."
