Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
-Use of the Inforoo™ trademark without permission is not allowed. For example no one may create a new website, chat room, or other entity and use the Inforoo™ name or a derivative without permission of the moderators.
Just for my own edification, did you guys ever actually get a trademark issued? Because when this was a hilarious issue of dispute a while back, I know that there was nothing registered with the U.S. patent office.
Registration with the USPTO is not necessary for Inforoo™ to exert common law rights to the Inforoo™ trade name.

Thanks for your post Juggs. I know there's been confusing aspects of the rules in the past so we're going to try and help make things as clear as possible. I just want to point out that only major difference between this one and the old one is that we added specifics on how we will handle people that violate the rules. Everything else is pretty much the same.
-no ticket selling will be tolerated, we do not want to get shut down by the promoters of the event.
Does this include regular old face-value "hey guys, I bought a ticket but now I can't go, anyone want to buy it off me?" As there's absolutely nothing illegal about this I don't think it would create any issue with AC/Superfly and co.
This will remain how it's been for a while now. The rule is primarily focused on people signing up to make money on tickets or scalp them at a higher price. We ask that if you're in a situation that requires you to get rid of your ticket either put a sentence in your signature or take a trip to this thread and follow the rules in the first post: www.inforoo.com/thread/25624/tickets-arrangements-splits-singles
-No flaming, obscenity, or otherwise being rude. Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Just because it's the internet does not give anyone the excuse to insult other members. We'd like to keep the spirit of Bonnaroo intact on this message board.
Please expand these guidelines so as to include a description of the "spirit" of Bonnaroo.
There's no real definition for this and while it may seem kind of twee and silly I think most people understand what is meant here. This isn't to say "Bonnaroo has awesome vibez and so nobody can argue or disagree or whatever on our message board". It's just a general rule for respecting others.
-Please post in the appropriate sections of the message board, inappropriate posts will be moved or removed.
Does this include things like people posting about undercard bands in the headliner thread? Or just forum to subforum?
It can include both. It's much easier for us to find an entire thread that's in the wrong spot but sometimes posts occur in the wrong threads without us noticing. Certain threads move through many pages fast so we may not pick up every instance of this so we are going to ask for the board members to help us out. If someone is posting undercard acts in the headliner thread we ask that people link/direct them to the proper thread. Or if that's too much work you can report the post (and comment "Wrong thread") and we'll do our best to move it to the correct thread as soon as possible.
-Please, No Druq talk on Inforoo™. Druq talk or discussion of other illegal activities is explicitly not permitted.
Is there merely the same old ban on the use of the actual word "dr*g," or are people actually going to get tagged for referencing dr*g use in their posts? i.e. talking about party favors, "corn," etc.? If someone is going on about how spunions they were at that sick Phish rager brahs, does that count?
This is another example of not much really changing. The thing we want to avoid are posts about how to find/how to sneak in illegal substances while at Roo (or other festivals/concerts). We understand that some of the past issues related to this topic have been inconsistent and we're trying to find a way to make it work so you don't have to completely censor yourself in fear of being in trouble.
We will also be removing the actual word "drug" from the filter because that's just silly. That's been brought to our attention and made clear. There are bands and real life examples of usages of that word that don't have to do with illegal narcotics so we think it's time to retire that as a "bad word".
-Use of the Inforoo™ trademark without permission is not allowed. For example no one may create a new website, chat room, or other entity and use the Inforoo™ name or a derivative without permission of the moderators.

We do not know all the ins and outs but we do have a lawyer to help us straighten all that out and it's something we're actively working on.
-Each member is permitted ONE AND ONLY ONE account on this board. No duplicate accounts. Exceptions may be made for certain circumstances such as lost passwords. Exceptions will never be made in the case of banned members.
Here's a question - what if you'd like to delete your account and start a brand new one, yet you're afraid that if you leave your old name unabandoned someone will scoop up your old username and start making posts which may be attributed to you by those who are unaware? For instance, the way ProBoards works, if NoDepression deletes his account today, and signs up as ILoveWilliamBevan tomorrow, I could create an account called "NoDepression" and all his past posts, etc. would link back to my profile. If someone promises not to use their old account, couldn't they just leave it more or less inactive?
This one should be pretty easy to deal with. If, in your example, NoDepression deletes his account (with the intention of making a new account) and doesn't want others to be able to link up with his old posts he can let one of the moderators know of his concerns. We can then add "NoDepression" to the "Reserved Names" part of our forum which will not allow anyone to sign up using that specific name.
Basically, let us know if you don't want someone using your old account and we'll add it to the reserved names. This could be because you plan on coming back at a later date or because you just don't want someone impersonating you. If this issue comes up we'll work together with the board member to do whatever we can to avoid any kind of inforoo-identity theft.
Also, another optioin is that accounts can be de-activated without being deleted (i.e. banned).
Any members, regardless of post count or reputation, that are found to be in violation of these guidelines will be warned and then suspended if they cannot abide by the guidelines after they are warned. The first suspension will be one week in length. If another violation occurs, the member will be suspended for 2 weeks. Upon the 3rd violation the member will be banned. This is non-negotiable. The moderators, as a group, reserve the right to enforce these guidelines as they see fit
Tying in with my earlier question, so people who post about "corn" or whatever the f*ck time after time should be receiving warnings and suspensions pretty quickly, right? And how does the "regardless of post count or reputation" bit jive with the "the moderators reserve the right to enforce these guidelines as they see fit" portion?
If we see someone repeatedly posting about drugs and it's becoming an issue then we will warn them to stop. We try to be lenient on certain things like this and take it on a case by case basis. Sometimes a board member doesn't realize he's doing something frowned upon. Sometimes they are just being difficult. Sometimes it's a troll. If it's brought to our attention or we see it in threads and we believe it's crossing a line then they will get a quick message from a mod asking them to cut it out.
The part about "reserve the right to enforce these guidelines as they see fit" really means that we will apply the rules equally across the board, but we reserve the right to apply the rules in a different manner if the mods agree that it should be done so. Like with spammers and obvious trolls. We don't give spammers a suspension, we just ban.
Thanks and God bless.
Thank you for the questions. We hope that these answers helped a bit.

Can you guys stop? We know about the word filter and as I have said multiple times something's being done. I've been working on something in my free time and have let people know it's coming soon. This type of stuff doesn't help and is just annoying. Really takes away the motivation to help out and fix things when you just keep provoking us on purpose. Frustrating as hell to try and help you guys and satisfy your complaints when you give us crap on a daily basis.
Just be patient, everyone. Our hands are tied, this is the only way to proceed. We promise a solution is coming real soon. You're just gonna have to trust us on this one. We've never led you astray before. Projected new forums software arrival date: First Quarter 2014. The new servers are en route to the data center. We have always been at war with Eurasia

Yea, not helping at all. I'd appreciate it if you stopped acting like a troll for once. I spend a lot of time working on this forum and trying to make things better so everyone can enjoy their time here and this kind of crap is really frustrating.

I'm responding to a silly and ridiculous situation with equivalent silliness and ridiculousness. If that frustrates you, take a step back.
The holiday spirit is alive and well in this thread.
Stressed out because of family stuff and other issues I'm dealing with and signing on to see this crap will definitely put a damper on the holiday spirit. I'm tired of bending over backwards and spending hours of my free time working on stuff for the boards that continually get sarcastic jokes and snide remarks in return.
The issues with the word filter have been addressed and have been in the process of some updates EXTREMELY SOON and yet I feel like i'm being slapped in the face by the same familiar faces. It starts feeling like it's not worth the effort I put in. So yea...I guess you could say that I'm not feeling the holiday spirit right now.
It's just not that funny when someone has been working very hard on something as a surprise for Christmas and the present is thrown back in their face.
