You say the best case would be to have the 2 of them and a 3rd, so why? i explained why i dont think is, i'm not trying to be confrontational im just curious for your reasoning, and im not gonna buy a standard responce like wider runoffs are generally better, i mean in this specific example.
The "Best Case" that I bring up is one that has been reiterated by several here, and I have posted below where I personally do not agree 100% with the proposed structure. I think we need a 3rd in this runoff so that we don't become split into Camp Viking or Camp Jimmy. Obviously we are going to have a definite split among those two, but having a 3rd will allow us to look at who chose to avoid the elephant in the room and vote away from the situation. This can be particularly helpful since there is usually at least one mafia that likes to fly under the radar and avoid suspicion, which can be quickly cast depending on vote order and placement.
There. Now there are two. I am not going to put Viking in there, I don't feel he warrants it at this time other than to appease the masses that want the Viking and Jimmy combo. Krissy stated intent earlier, and if that's the direction we feel it should go then I'm sure she will do that, or someone else will. I am just not going to continue to clutter the runoff with those that aren't raising flags.
Sorry I've hijacked this page, I'm having more of a thought fragment day than concise posting one.
One quick question: When you first asked Jimmy about his tendency to late stack on the first stacker and he pointed out that he votes early, he doesn't respond to your question does he? I have known him to be an early voter, but he makes frequent changes to his votes, and does usually land a stack on early stackers later on. I am trying to figure out if this is part of what doesn't add up to you, because that was something I felt wasn't a complete answer myself.
Jimmy never really answers questions, so his not answering did not really bother me. It does not mean he is mafia, since he always plays that way.
In this particular instance, he pretty vehemently said that it was BS. As I pointed out, the facts point to him being a later voter and voting on a stacker, but looking back, he voted early as a townie the one time he did vote early, so it does not sway me one way or another. It is interesting that you view him as an early voter. I always viewed him as an early talker and late voter, but there is no history to go back and review anymore.
Bundled together with him voting for me, the reason he posted, and concern over intent, it was enough for me to move my vote to him. I am still mulling some of what he has done in the last 12 hours. I can't decide if he is just being erratic and shifting blame with his vote change, saying I started all of this and saying it was because I do not like him, or if he is mafia and figured out that coming directly at me may not have been the smartest move.
Seeing how all votes are in, I will not automatically extend all weekend. There have been some requests for the round not to end tonight. Round 1 is extended and is scheduled to close 8pm Saturday. If there is still lots of movement and/or requests we will extend as need be.
You are right on that, I may be confusing his early commenting with voting. He is usually in before I am so of course I view him as early, but I know he is also a frequent late in the game stacker and vote shifter. The thing that strikes me this game was his willingness to stack so early, and he's usually not that up front out the gate with votes. Whatever way that is interpreted and regardless of role, it doesn't cast him in the most positive light.
I'm not sure whether to move to put Viking back in, or to leave it as is. Thinking on it, Viking gets people talking, and as was pointed out (I think by Hakuna?), he's often a Day 1 target, so if he's kept longer, then he can keep doing his thing and we may be able to get more traction. The same can probably be said for jimmy.
I really want to hear more from ody, bogart, and LD. With the conversation starting to pick up, I think it would be helpful to get more views.

I don't know how I could quote you with more context. If you have any idea how, by all means, make a suggestion. It's a simple question I'm asking here - do you or do you not want to see what would happen with Viking sticking to his Bacon vote, and why or why not? FWIW, I think you are also taking a pretty nice angle by conveniently not answering the question I asked you. As for my "angle", I explained that already - first to stack + contradictory posts. You just seem to stick out as shadier than most right now, IMO.
I'm not trying to make you look like anything - but somebody has to go this round, and like everyone, I'm voting for the person I have the biggest doubts about. It's a first-round vote, so it's mostly based on intuition and little things that aren't sitting well with me. I wouldn't read too much into it.
Hey finally got off the road and got a chance to read through. My impressions, so far, are that the Jimmy/Viking lovers quarrel really didn't get us anywhere. I tend to agree that we should just not have either of them in the runoff this go around because if only one is I feel like votes will fall to that person because of the earlier stuff. I do see how vote stacking and changing is suspicious, but I don't know. I'll have to go back and look at the stuff says Sleepy quoted out of context, haven't done that yet.
As it stands right now, I think Bacon and LD are two good ones for the runoff. Everyone seems to want 3 or more in a runoff, so I feel like we should put someone else in aside from Jimmy, but I can't affect Jimmy's position at this point. I'll give it another read through and see if I glean anything from a 3rd person.
FYI - Weekend-long party coming up starting tonight. Will still be around, just won't be checking in as much. I'll keep an eye on deadlines.
I'm just assuming that basically everyone will be on a limited schedule until the new year.
I will be busy most days up 'til the 2nd. I'm installing a fountain all day today, mostly free the next couple days, busy Christmas Eve through Boxing Day, somewhat free again the next couple, then heading up to the bush for walkabout from the 29th to the 2nd. I will try to check in whenever I can, but can't guarantee it will be quite every 24 hours.

And what is it about the Alabama guys throwing votes on me and wanting to push me in a runoff? Seems like Bogart wants to throw me in a runoff nearly every game. Now Ody is cool with the fact I'm in a runoff. And I know I don't openly diss the Tide that much on the CFB thread, nothing compared to Oregon anyway. So what gives?
i have always been in the boat that like it or not, certain players are good day 1 targets. LD is one, Viking is one, MikeD is one, i have seen Bacon be one. i almost always give these players the benefit of the doubt. if we are going to vote off a townie day 1 it is better to have it be some who the mafia doesn't want dead.

But can we have some sort of different first round runoff featuring an all new cast of characters? How the hell do I end up in a freaking runoff all the time? I'm a townie like 85-90% of the time, and this game isn't an exception. Being a townie this many times in a row is boring as sh*t. It really is. I don't even remember the last time I was Mafia. It's a lot more fun being f*cking evil.

Everyone's been paying too much attention to Viking and Jimmy and their little middle school crushes behavior - you really like them, but talk shit about them all the time because you don't want anyone else to really know it. Yeah, it's pretty much like that. And it's not leading us anywhere, since they do that all the time. How about we have a runoff with Krissy, Bogart, and Odysseus? Better odds of finding a Mafia in those three than among me/Bacon/Jimmy.
So yeah, if anyone else wants to join me and starting the revolution and totally redo this runoff scenario - I'm game. I'll move off Bacon and put Bogart in the runoff. I thought a three person runoff would be better for the town thus keeping my vote on ody was pointless. Ella then switched her vote off you so I chose to put you back in.

Not really sure what to make of all the recent vote switching. But since my opinion doesn't seem to matter much and I'm pretty much a lock for this runoff I will check back in later

I didn't throw a vote on you or try to push you in, I just said I was okay with it.
That being said, I'm also okay with your idea of putting different people in, but I base that more on the feeling that Viking or Jimmy in the runoff will skew things. But my vote is on Bogart and I won't change it currently so that he'll stay in the runoff.
About to go back through and do a second read through now to see if anything sticks out.
Just for the record, after going back and looking at the part where Sleepy says Jimmy is contradicting himself and Jimmy says sleepy is quoting him out of context, I think Jimmy kind of overreacted to that. I don't think Jimmy had contradicted himself quite as much as it might have seemed if you had just read those posts, but I can kinda see how it could be read that way even when reading them in their entirety. I don't think it was so out of context to warrant a vote switch, but I don't know. I haven't played in a while so I can't really remember tendencies, but it does seem to be a consensus that Jimmy changes his vote a lot, so I'll let it slide.
Of course that vote switch did take Viking out of the runoff. I guess it's not out of the realm of possibilities both Viking and Jimmy are mafia and they had the whole argument at the beginning to distance themselves and have the ability to save a least one from a runoff. Is it likely, probably not. But I guess anything is possible. Just spitballing while re-reading.

So let me tell you something.
So back in May, the girlfriend and I went up to Portland to meet up with Popsicle Sarah and her boyfriend. Went to this place, rated one of the best brunch places in Maine. On the menu:
Dark Chocolate Waffle – 9 Belgian waffle batter blended with dark chocolate and finished with fresh strawberries and whipped cream
Best damn waffle I've ever had. Very tasty.
Know what would have been even better though? If it was a dark chocolate pancake instead, with the same fixins.
So yeah, I went to the dark side. But then I came back. The people who preach the gospel of Team Waffles, they are wrong. So that means you and KrissyJo - that I know of. I wasn't trying to pile it on with suspicion like you say, but rather was just poking some holes in what I saw as dubious logic to see how well you could justify your voting pattern. I have and would do the same thing to anyone who I viewed as a shady cat.
I already explained my take on why I thought your reasoning was questionable; I'm not sold on your guilt by any means, but I do think you would make as good a first-round runoff candidate as anyone else right now.
It has been 7-1/2 hrs since the last vote change, discussion seems to be tapering down a bit, players who have asked or stated they couldn't post til later have, no requests or comments to extend this - round is still scheduled to close at 8 (an hour and a half from now)
I'm not sure which one to vote for, and I'm about to head over to JFK for a flight. So I'll probably not be checking in for some time until I get to Israel.
I suppose the most "suspicious" think that has happened so far was all those last second vote switches by Tejas and co. to put Bogart and Krissy added to make it a 4 person runoff. I can't say they are all mafia that switched their votes, but I wouldn't be surprised if one instigated and some townies followed or vice versa.
Having said all that, looks like an effort to dilute the pool and make it easier for someone else to survive. Since I know I'm a townie, that leaves LD. That's pretty much all I got.
