I think people are overhyping the D'Angelo album. While it has really nice grooves, I've yet to notice anything about it that stands out as special to me. I enjoyed Art Official Age a lot more earlier this year. That Charli XCX album is fun and the London Queen track makes me smile.

I think the D'angelo album is really weird.
I'm a sucker for the Hammond and Rhodes. There are some really good drum fills and guitar stabs. It could be a grower for me. I've only listened twice so far.

because this seems to be the place where most of the d'angelo discussion is going on, and I can't really find another place to post it, here is a pretty cool interview with D'Angelo talking about the inspiration, recording, background, etc of the new album: www.npr.org/blogs/MicrophoneCheck/2014/05/23/314883957/dangelo-im-trying-to-go-deep its from a few months ago before the album was released, so it's a bit of a different perspective.
